The AirTAC GFR400-15 AirTAC Filter Regulator G1/2 5um Low-Pressure is a genuine G-series filter regulator: water separation, 5 µm particulate filtration and balanced-type pressure regulation combined in a single body. It has PT1/2" ports, a manual drain and regulates 0.05 - 0.9 MPa (7 - 130 psi). It does not lubricate — add a GL lubricator, or order the GFC two-unit set, if downstream equipment needs oil.
The AirTAC GFR400-15 is a filter regulator: one body that removes water and particulate from compressed air and then regulates downstream pressure. This unit is the size 400 frame with a 1/2 in female port in G (BSPP) thread, and it is the low-pressure type, intended where the working pressure you set sits below the standard regulator band. Filtration is the fine 5 um element (the W grade), the bowl is drained by hand with the manual drain fitted, and a round gauge reading in psi is included so you can see and set the downstream pressure directly. The polycarbonate bowl suits this size, and the mounting bracket is included.
This is a genuine AirTAC part. The GFR family runs from size 200 through 600, with port sizes from 1/8 in to 1 in, a choice of differential-pressure, automatic or manual drain, 40 um standard or 5 um fine filtration, standard or low-pressure regulation, gauge style and scale options, and PT, G or NPT threads. Flow is published by AirTAC as curves rather than a single rated figure, so ask us to confirm the flow and datasheet figures for your application before ordering.

Specifications follow the official AirTAC G-series air-preparation data. The regulating band is set by the drain type: automatic and differential-pressure drains regulate 0.15 - 0.9 MPa, a manual drain regulates 0.05 - 0.9 MPa. The low-pressure type adjusts over a lower band than standard; we confirm the exact figures from the factory datasheet. Air must not freeze in the unit. Flow curves, weight and outline dimensions are not published in our data set — ask us and we will confirm from the factory datasheet.

|---|---|
| 15 | Port size PT1/2". This body offers 10 = PT3/8", 15 = PT1/2". |
| M | Drain: Manual drain — this also sets the regulating band (0.05 - 0.9 MPa (7 - 130 psi)). |
| L | Low-pressure type. Blank is standard, L is the low-pressure type. |
| (blank) | Mounting bracket included. |
| (blank) | Pressure gauge fitted (blank). |
| C | Gauge shape: Round. C is round, F is square. |
| 2 | Gauge scale: psi. 1 is MPa, 2 is psi, 3 is bar. |
| W | Filtering grade 5 µm. Only 40 µm (blank) and 5 µm (W) exist. |
| G | G (BSPP) thread. PT is the default; G is BSPP and T is NPT. |
| (blank) | No reverse-flow valve (the default). |
Field order is size, port, drain, type, bracket, gauge, shape, scale, grade, thread, reflux — a blank position takes the default. Example: GFR300-08 is a 300 body, PT1/4", differential drain, standard type, bracket included, gauge fitted, 40 µm, PT thread, no reflux valve.
A larger body carries a larger port and holds set pressure better as flow rises. AirTAC publishes flow only as curves, so size the body from your peak demand with headroom. The GFR600 uses an aluminium-alloy bowl; the 200, 300 and 400 bodies use PC.

Fixture clamps and swing cylinders on a CNC cell that hold at reduced pressure get clean, filtered air and a stable, low setpoint, with the psi gauge letting the setter verify clamp pressure at the fixture.
Paint and coating booths need air stripped of water and fine particulate before the gun, and a regulator set well below line pressure; the 5 um element and low-pressure regulation serve both jobs in one unit.
Pick-and-place cylinders and diverters on a packaging line run from a filtered, regulated drop; the 1/2 in port feeds multiple actuators and the manual drain is bled during scheduled changeover.
Start with the port and frame: size 400 with a 1/2 in port suits lines with higher air demand than the 200/300 frames, but the real check is flow, and that is published only as curves - send us your demand and we will confirm the fit. This unit carries the 5 um (W) element; choose 40 um if coarse protection is enough, since the finer element costs more differential across the filter. The manual drain means an operator opens the bowl drain periodically; pick automatic or differential-pressure drain if the unit is mounted where regular bleeding is impractical. The fitted round gauge reads in psi; square embedded gauges and MPa or bar scales are alternatives. Thread here is G (BSPP); PT is the standard and NPT is also an order option. Bracket is included. The low-pressure type matters: if your setpoint sits in the upper part of the standard band, confirm suitability with us first.
Quick checklist
The PC bowl must not be cleaned with solvents — wipe it with a dry cloth. Without the K option, air cannot flow back through the unit. A filter regulator adds no oil to the line.
AirTAC publishes flow for the GFR series as curves, not as a single rated number, so we do not quote a figure here. Send us your line pressure and air demand and we will confirm the flow and datasheet figures for the GFR400-15 against your application before you order.
The manual drain on this unit means an operator opens the drain to bleed collected water from the bowl - straightforward if the unit is accessible and checked routinely. If it is mounted high, in an enclosure or on a line that runs unattended, order the automatic or differential-pressure drain version instead so the bowl clears itself.
