The AirTAC GFR400-15 AirTAC Filter Regulator NPT1/2, Auto Drain is a genuine G-series filter regulator: water separation, 40 µm particulate filtration and balanced-type pressure regulation combined in a single body. It has PT1/2" ports, a automatic drain and regulates 0.15 - 0.9 MPa (20 - 130 psi). It does not lubricate — add a GL lubricator, or order the GFC two-unit set, if downstream equipment needs oil.
The AirTAC GFR400-15 is a filter regulator: it removes water and particulate from compressed air and regulates downstream pressure in one body. This configuration carries a 1/2 in NPT port, an automatic drain that expels collected condensate without manual attention, and the standard 40 um filter element. It is supplied without a gauge, without a mounting bracket, and with a reverse/check valve fitted that holds downstream pressure when the upstream supply is removed. Maximum inlet pressure is 1.0 MPa (145 psi), the standard regulator adjustment range is 0.15-0.9 MPa (20-130 psi), and the operating temperature is -5 to 70 C (non-freezing). The polycarbonate bowl suits this size; only the 600 size uses an aluminium alloy bowl.
This is a genuine AirTAC part from the GFR series, which spans sizes 200, 300, 400 and 600 with port sizes from 1/8 in to 1 in, thread options PT (standard), G and NPT, drain choices of differential-pressure, automatic or manual, and an optional 5 um element (code W). Flow is published as curves rather than a single rated figure, so contact us and we will confirm the datasheet figures for your application on request.

Specifications follow the official AirTAC G-series air-preparation data. The regulating band is set by the drain type: automatic and differential-pressure drains regulate 0.15 - 0.9 MPa, a manual drain regulates 0.05 - 0.9 MPa. Standard type, regulating 0.15 - 0.9 MPa (20 - 130 psi). Air must not freeze in the unit. Flow curves, weight and outline dimensions are not published in our data set — ask us and we will confirm from the factory datasheet.

| 15 | Port size PT1/2". This body offers 10 = PT3/8", 15 = PT1/2". |
| A | Drain: Automatic drain — this also sets the regulating band (0.15 - 0.9 MPa (20 - 130 psi)). |
| (blank) | Standard type. Blank is standard, L is the low-pressure type. |
| J | Supplied without bracket. |
| N | No pressure gauge (N). |
| (blank) | Gauge shape: Factory standard. C is round, F is square. |
| (blank) | Gauge scale: Factory standard. 1 is MPa, 2 is psi, 3 is bar. |
| (blank) | Filtering grade 40 µm. Only 40 µm (blank) and 5 µm (W) exist. |
| T | NPT thread. PT is the default; G is BSPP and T is NPT. |
| K | Reverse-flow (reflux) valve fitted. |
Field order is size, port, drain, type, bracket, gauge, shape, scale, grade, thread, reflux — a blank position takes the default. Example: GFR300-08 is a 300 body, PT1/4", differential drain, standard type, bracket included, gauge fitted, 40 µm, PT thread, no reflux valve.
A larger body carries a larger port and holds set pressure better as flow rises. AirTAC publishes flow only as curves, so size the body from your peak demand with headroom. The GFR600 uses an aluminium-alloy bowl; the 200, 300 and 400 bodies use PC.

Feeding a workshop pneumatic press: the regulator sets a stable working pressure to the cylinder circuit while the 40 um element strips water and pipe scale, and the automatic drain keeps the bowl clear between shifts.
Conditioning the supply to a cartoning or wrapping machine: clean, regulated air to the actuators and valves, with the reverse/check valve holding the circuit pressure if the plant supply is shut off mid-run.
Supplying air-driven conveyor gate and stopper cylinders: the 1/2 in port supports the line demand, and the automatic drain suits a drop point that is not checked daily.
Size and port are the first decision: the 400 size with its 1/2 in NPT port suits lines with higher air demand than the 200/300 sizes, but sizing against required flow should be confirmed before ordering, because G-series flow is published as curves rather than a single rating. The automatic drain on this unit suits unmanned or hard-to-reach installations; choose manual drain where controlled, supervised draining is preferred, or the differential-pressure default where a drop signal should prompt it. The standard 40 um element is fitted here; specify code W for the 5 um grade where finer filtration is needed.
This unit ships without a gauge, so add one separately if a local pressure indication is required; gauge scale options are MPa, psi or bar. Thread is NPT on this model, with PT (standard) and G available as order options. A mounting bracket is not included with the J code. Ask us to confirm sizing against the application before ordering.
Quick checklist
The PC bowl must not be cleaned with solvents — wipe it with a dry cloth. The reflux valve permits reverse flow through the unit. A filter regulator adds no oil to the line.
AirTAC publishes G-series flow as curves, not as a single rated figure, so we do not quote a rated flow, Cv or SCFM number. Send us your application details and we will confirm the datasheet flow figures for the GFR400 size on request.
The N in the code means no gauge is fitted. You can still set the regulator, but for a visible downstream pressure reading add a gauge separately; gauge options include an embedded square gauge or an external round gauge with MPa, psi or bar scales.
