The AirTAC GFR400-15 AirTAC Filter Regulator PT1/2 40 um Manual Drain is a genuine G-series filter regulator: water separation, 40 µm particulate filtration and balanced-type pressure regulation combined in a single body. It has PT1/2" ports, a manual drain and regulates 0.05 - 0.9 MPa (7 - 130 psi). It does not lubricate — add a GL lubricator, or order the GFC two-unit set, if downstream equipment needs oil.
The GFR400-15 is an AirTAC GFR-series filter regulator: it removes water and particulate from compressed air and holds downstream pressure at your setpoint in a single body. This size 400 unit is supplied with a PT1/2 (1/2 in) PT thread, a 40 um filter element, a manual drain on the polycarbonate bowl, an embedded square gauge scaled in psi, and a reverse/check valve fitted. Maximum inlet pressure is 1.0 MPa (145 psi) and the working temperature range is -5 to 70 C (non-freezing). With the manual drain fitted, the regulator adjusts from 0.05 to 0.9 MPa (7-130 psi).
This is a genuine AirTAC part. The GFR family spans sizes 200, 300, 400 and 600 with ports from 1/8 in to 1 in, a choice of manual, automatic or differential-pressure drains, a 5 um element option (code W), gauge scales in MPa, psi or bar, and G or NPT thread options to order. Rated flow is published as curves rather than a single figure, so ask us to confirm the datasheet and sizing for your application.

Specifications follow the official AirTAC G-series air-preparation data. The regulating band is set by the drain type: automatic and differential-pressure drains regulate 0.15 - 0.9 MPa, a manual drain regulates 0.05 - 0.9 MPa. Standard type, regulating 0.05 - 0.9 MPa (7 - 130 psi). Air must not freeze in the unit. Flow curves, weight and outline dimensions are not published in our data set — ask us and we will confirm from the factory datasheet.

Field order is size, port, drain, type, bracket, gauge, shape, scale, grade, thread, reflux — a blank position takes the default. Example: GFR300-08 is a 300 body, PT1/4", differential drain, standard type, bracket included, gauge fitted, 40 µm, PT thread, no reflux valve.
A larger body carries a larger port and holds set pressure better as flow rises. AirTAC publishes flow only as curves, so size the body from your peak demand with headroom. The GFR600 uses an aluminium-alloy bowl; the 200, 300 and 400 bodies use PC.

Filtered, regulated feed for a CNC machining center's pneumatics: tool-clamp and chip-door cylinders see clean, moisture-reduced air held at a stable setpoint, with the check valve holding the circuit if supply dips.
On a bottling or filling line, the GFR400-15 conditions the air feeding grippers, capping heads and stopper actuators; the manual drain lets maintenance purge the bowl at scheduled shift checks.
Warehouse and parcel-sort conveyors use air cylinders to throw diverters and gates; this unit filters that air and regulates it to the cylinder circuit's set pressure, with the psi gauge giving operators a visible setpoint.
Step up or down through sizes 200, 300, 400 and 600 to match the port and the flow your line needs; this unit is the size 400 step with a 1/2 in PT port. Choose the drain to suit service: manual (as fitted here) for periodic purging, automatic for unattended condensate removal, or the differential-pressure default. The 40 um element is standard; specify 5 um (code W) where finer filtration matters. The embedded square gauge is standard, here scaled in psi, with an external round gauge optional and MPa, psi or bar scales available. PT is the standard thread; G (BSPP) and NPT are order options. A mounting bracket is included. Flow is published as curves, not a single rating, so ask us to confirm sizing against your application before ordering.
Quick checklist
The PC bowl must not be cleaned with solvents — wipe it with a dry cloth. The reflux valve permits reverse flow through the unit. A filter regulator adds no oil to the line.
AirTAC publishes GFR performance as flow curves rather than a single rated figure, so we do not quote a number here. Tell us your application and we will confirm the datasheet and check the curve against your required flow before you order.
This unit is supplied with a manual drain: maintenance opens it periodically to purge collected condensate. If the installation runs unattended, the same GFR400-15 can be ordered with an automatic drain (code A) or the differential-pressure default instead. Note that the manual-drain version carries the wider 0.05-0.9 MPa (7-130 psi) adjustment range.
