The AirTAC GFR400-15 AirTAC Filter Regulator PT1/2, 5 um, Auto Drain is a genuine G-series filter regulator: water separation, 5 µm particulate filtration and balanced-type pressure regulation combined in a single body. It has PT1/2" ports, a automatic drain and regulates 0.15 - 0.9 MPa (20 - 130 psi). It does not lubricate — add a GL lubricator, or order the GFC two-unit set, if downstream equipment needs oil.
The AirTAC GFR400-15 is a filter regulator: it removes water and particulate from compressed air and holds downstream pressure steady, in one body. This 400-size unit is supplied with a 1/2 in PT port, a 5 um filter element (code W) for finer filtration than the standard 40 um grade, an automatic drain that expels collected condensate without manual attention, an embedded square gauge reading in psi, and a reverse/check valve fitted. The polycarbonate bowl suits the 400 frame, and the standard regulator covers an adjustment range of 0.15-0.9 MPa (20-130 psi). Maximum inlet pressure is 1.0 MPa (145 psi), with an operating temperature of -5 to 70 C (non-freezing).
This is a genuine AirTAC part. The GFR family spans sizes 200, 300, 400 and 600, with port options from 1/8 to 1 in, PT (standard), G or NPT threads, 40 um or 5 um elements, differential-pressure, automatic or manual drains, and gauge or no-gauge builds. Flow for this series is published as curves rather than a single rated figure, so ask us to confirm the datasheet and sizing for your application before ordering.

Specifications follow the official AirTAC G-series air-preparation data. The regulating band is set by the drain type: automatic and differential-pressure drains regulate 0.15 - 0.9 MPa, a manual drain regulates 0.05 - 0.9 MPa. Standard type, regulating 0.15 - 0.9 MPa (20 - 130 psi). Air must not freeze in the unit. Flow curves, weight and outline dimensions are not published in our data set — ask us and we will confirm from the factory datasheet.

|---|---|
| 15 | Port size PT1/2". This body offers 10 = PT3/8", 15 = PT1/2". |
| A | Drain: Automatic drain — this also sets the regulating band (0.15 - 0.9 MPa (20 - 130 psi)). |
| (blank) | Standard type. Blank is standard, L is the low-pressure type. |
| J | Supplied without bracket. |
| (blank) | Pressure gauge fitted (blank). |
| F | Gauge shape: Square. C is round, F is square. |
| 2 | Gauge scale: psi. 1 is MPa, 2 is psi, 3 is bar. |
| W | Filtering grade 5 µm. Only 40 µm (blank) and 5 µm (W) exist. |
| (blank) | PT thread. PT is the default; G is BSPP and T is NPT. |
| K | Reverse-flow (reflux) valve fitted. |
Field order is size, port, drain, type, bracket, gauge, shape, scale, grade, thread, reflux — a blank position takes the default. Example: GFR300-08 is a 300 body, PT1/4", differential drain, standard type, bracket included, gauge fitted, 40 µm, PT thread, no reflux valve.
A larger body carries a larger port and holds set pressure better as flow rises. AirTAC publishes flow only as curves, so size the body from your peak demand with headroom. The GFR600 uses an aluminium-alloy bowl; the 200, 300 and 400 bodies use PC.

Feeding pneumatic cylinders and grippers on a carton-forming and sealing conveyor, where the 5 um element protects directional valves from particulate and the regulator holds a steady actuation pressure through the shift.
Mounted at a 1/2 in branch drop serving an assembly cell, filtering condensed water out of the shop-air main and regulating the pressure that hand tools, clamps and air tables in the cell actually see.
Conditioning the air line to a spray-finishing operation, where the automatic drain keeps condensate out of the bowl without an operator visit and the fine 5 um grade helps protect the downstream air-prep chain feeding the gun.
Step up or down through the GFR sizes (200/300/400/600) to match the port and the flow your line needs - the 400 frame with a 1/2 in PT port sits in the upper mid-range. Choose the 5 um element (this unit, code W) when downstream equipment such as valves or instruments needs finer protection than the standard 40 um grade. Pick the automatic drain (fitted here) where the unit is hard to reach or the supply is humid; manual or differential-pressure drains are available on other builds. The embedded square gauge reads in psi here; MPa or bar scales, and an external round gauge, are options. PT is the standard thread - G (BSPP) and NPT are order options. This build ships without a mounting bracket (code J); bracketed versions exist. Because flow is published as curves rather than one rated number, send us your application details and we will confirm sizing against the datasheet before you order.
Quick checklist
The PC bowl must not be cleaned with solvents — wipe it with a dry cloth. The reflux valve permits reverse flow through the unit. A filter regulator adds no oil to the line.
AirTAC publishes flow for the GFR series as curves, not as a single rated figure, so we do not quote a number here. Tell us your application and we will confirm the flow data and correct sizing from the datasheet on request before you order.
The A in the code GFR40015AJF2WK selects the automatic drain, which discharges collected condensate on its own - useful where the unit is mounted out of reach or the air is humid. Manual-drain and differential-pressure-drain GFR400 builds are also available in the series if you prefer a different arrangement.
