The AirTAC GFR400-15 AirTAC Filter Regulator, PT1/2, 5 um, Auto Drain is a genuine G-series filter regulator: water separation, 5 µm particulate filtration and balanced-type pressure regulation combined in a single body. It has PT1/2" ports, a automatic drain and regulates 0.15 - 0.9 MPa (20 - 130 psi). It does not lubricate — add a GL lubricator, or order the GFC two-unit set, if downstream equipment needs oil.
The GFR400-15 is an AirTAC GFR-series filter regulator: water and particulate filtration plus downstream pressure regulation in a single body. This size 400 unit is ported PT1/2 with a PT (BSPT-type) thread as standard, and carries the 5 um filter element (code W) for finer particle removal than the 40 um standard element. The automatic drain (code A) ejects collected condensate without manual attention, the low-pressure type regulator (code L) is intended where only modest regulated pressures are needed, and the fitted round gauge (code C2) reads in psi. A reverse/check valve (code K) is fitted, and the mounting bracket is included.
This is a genuine AirTAC part. The GFR family spans sizes 200, 300, 400 and 600 with ports from 1/8 in to 1 in, a choice of differential-pressure, automatic or manual drain, 40 um or 5 um filtration, standard or low-pressure regulation, square or round gauges in MPa, psi or bar scales, and G, NPT or PT threads. Maximum inlet pressure is 1.0 MPa (145 psi) and the working temperature range is -5 to 70 C, non-freezing. Flow is published as curves rather than a single rating, so ask us to confirm sizing and any datasheet figure against your application before ordering.

Specifications follow the official AirTAC G-series air-preparation data. The regulating band is set by the drain type: automatic and differential-pressure drains regulate 0.15 - 0.9 MPa, a manual drain regulates 0.05 - 0.9 MPa. The low-pressure type adjusts over a lower band than standard; we confirm the exact figures from the factory datasheet. Air must not freeze in the unit. Flow curves, weight and outline dimensions are not published in our data set — ask us and we will confirm from the factory datasheet.

|---|---|
| 15 | Port size PT1/2". This body offers 10 = PT3/8", 15 = PT1/2". |
| A | Drain: Automatic drain — this also sets the regulating band (0.15 - 0.9 MPa (20 - 130 psi)). |
| L | Low-pressure type. Blank is standard, L is the low-pressure type. |
| (blank) | Mounting bracket included. |
| (blank) | Pressure gauge fitted (blank). |
| C | Gauge shape: Round. C is round, F is square. |
| 2 | Gauge scale: psi. 1 is MPa, 2 is psi, 3 is bar. |
| W | Filtering grade 5 µm. Only 40 µm (blank) and 5 µm (W) exist. |
| (blank) | PT thread. PT is the default; G is BSPP and T is NPT. |
| K | Reverse-flow (reflux) valve fitted. |
Field order is size, port, drain, type, bracket, gauge, shape, scale, grade, thread, reflux — a blank position takes the default. Example: GFR300-08 is a 300 body, PT1/4", differential drain, standard type, bracket included, gauge fitted, 40 µm, PT thread, no reflux valve.
A larger body carries a larger port and holds set pressure better as flow rises. AirTAC publishes flow only as curves, so size the body from your peak demand with headroom. The GFR600 uses an aluminium-alloy bowl; the 200, 300 and 400 bodies use PC.

Filtered, regulated air to clamp cylinders on a CNC fixture: the 5 um element keeps scoring particles out of the clamping valves, the low-pressure regulator holds a gentle clamp force, and the psi gauge lets the setter verify setpoint at the cell.
A single-body filter regulator feeding the sealing and forming cylinders of a packaging line: the automatic drain handles condensate on a machine that runs unattended across shifts, and the check valve holds the set pressure if the supply dips.
Conditioning shop air before a laboratory or pilot-plant manifold that runs at modest pressures: fine 5 um filtration protects sensitive instruments downstream, the low-pressure type regulator suits the modest setpoints, and the psi gauge gives a direct local readout.
Size 400 with a 1/2 in PT port suits lines where larger supply piping is already in place; step down to 300 or up to 600 if your flow demand points elsewhere - we can check the flow curve with you. The 5 um element (W) is the right pick when downstream valves or instruments want finer filtration than the 40 um standard; note the finer element is traded against a slightly higher pressure drop. The automatic drain suits unattended or hard-to-reach installations; choose manual or differential-pressure drain if you prefer operator control. This unit is the low-pressure type, so if your process needs regulation near the top of the standard range, confirm the suitability with us first. The fitted round gauge reads psi; square gauges and MPa or bar scales are alternatives. PT is the standard thread and G or NPT are order options; the bracket is included on this configuration.
Flow for this family is published only as curves, not a single rated figure, so send us your application details and we will confirm sizing from the datasheet before you order.
Quick checklist
The PC bowl must not be cleaned with solvents — wipe it with a dry cloth. The reflux valve permits reverse flow through the unit. A filter regulator adds no oil to the line.
AirTAC publishes flow for the GFR series only as curves, not as a single rated figure, so we do not quote a flow number for this unit. Send us your application - supply pressure, set pressure and expected air demand - and we will confirm sizing against the datasheet curve on request before you order.
The automatic drain (code A) ejects collected condensate on its own, which suits installations that are not checked daily; manual and differential-pressure drain versions are available if you prefer. The 5 um element (code W) filters more finely than the 40 um standard element, which is worthwhile when feeding valves, cylinders or instruments that are sensitive to fine particles. Both choices are decodable from the model code, and the low-pressure type regulator and psi round gauge on this unit are confirmed on the datasheet on request.
