The AirTAC GFR400-15-G AirTAC Filter Regulator G1/2, 5 um, Manual Drain is a genuine G-series filter regulator: water separation, 5 µm particulate filtration and balanced-type pressure regulation combined in a single body. It has PT1/2" ports, a manual drain and regulates 0.05 - 0.9 MPa (7 - 130 psi). It does not lubricate — add a GL lubricator, or order the GFC two-unit set, if downstream equipment needs oil.
The AirTAC GFR400-15-G is a filter regulator: it removes water and particulate from compressed air and sets downstream pressure in a single 1/2 in (G1/2) body. This configuration carries the 5 um filter element (code W) for finer filtration than the standard 40 um grade, a manual drain for the polycarbonate bowl, and a round pressure gauge reading in psi. The standard regulator adjusts outlet pressure from 0.05 to 0.9 MPa (7-130 psi), maximum inlet pressure is 1.0 MPa (145 psi), and the operating temperature range is -5 to 70 C (non-freezing). A mounting bracket is included.
This is a genuine AirTAC part from the GFR series, which spans sizes 200, 300, 400 and 600 with port sizes from 1/8 in to 1 in, a choice of manual, automatic or differential-pressure drains, 40 um or 5 um filtration, square or round gauges with MPa, psi or bar scales, and PT, G or NPT threads. Because AirTAC publishes flow as curves rather than a single rated figure, we confirm the datasheet and flow figures for your application on request.

Specifications follow the official AirTAC G-series air-preparation data. The regulating band is set by the drain type: automatic and differential-pressure drains regulate 0.15 - 0.9 MPa, a manual drain regulates 0.05 - 0.9 MPa. Standard type, regulating 0.05 - 0.9 MPa (7 - 130 psi). Air must not freeze in the unit. Flow curves, weight and outline dimensions are not published in our data set — ask us and we will confirm from the factory datasheet.
| GFR400 | G-series filter regulator, 400 body — sets the port range. |
|---|---|
| 15 | Port size PT1/2". This body offers 10 = PT3/8", 15 = PT1/2". |
| M | Drain: Manual drain — this also sets the regulating band (0.05 - 0.9 MPa (7 - 130 psi)). |
| (blank) | Standard type. Blank is standard, L is the low-pressure type. |
| (blank) | Mounting bracket included. |
| (blank) | Pressure gauge fitted (blank). |
| C | Gauge shape: Round. C is round, F is square. |
| 2 | Gauge scale: psi. 1 is MPa, 2 is psi, 3 is bar. |
| W | Filtering grade 5 µm. Only 40 µm (blank) and 5 µm (W) exist. |
| G | G (BSPP) thread. PT is the default; G is BSPP and T is NPT. |
| (blank) | No reverse-flow valve (the default). |
Field order is size, port, drain, type, bracket, gauge, shape, scale, grade, thread, reflux — a blank position takes the default. Example: GFR300-08 is a 300 body, PT1/4", differential drain, standard type, bracket included, gauge fitted, 40 µm, PT thread, no reflux valve.
A larger body carries a larger port and holds set pressure better as flow rises. AirTAC publishes flow only as curves, so size the body from your peak demand with headroom. The GFR600 uses an aluminium-alloy bowl; the 200, 300 and 400 bodies use PC.

Feeds filtered, regulated air to the tool-clamp and actuator circuits of a CNC machining centre, with the 5 um element protecting sensitive valves from fine particulate and the manual drain clearing accumulated condensate at shift checks.
Conditions the air supply to spray guns and coating pumps in a finishing line, where clean, dry air at a stable set pressure is the job of the filter regulator and the psi gauge lets operators verify the setting at a glance.
Supplies regulated air to the cylinders and grippers on a packaging or palletising conveyor, combining water and particle removal with pressure control in one body so a single 1/2 in drop serves both functions.
Size and port step up from 200 through 600, so match the GFR400 (1/2 in port here) to the air demand of the line rather than to pipe size alone - and ask us to confirm the flow curve against your consumption before ordering. Drain choice matters in practice: manual drain needs an operator to bleed the bowl, automatic drains continuously, and differential-pressure drains when the element loads up; this unit is the manual-drain version. The 5 um element (this unit) suits finer protection than the standard 40 um grade. Gauge scale is selectable (MPa, psi or bar) and the round external gauge is optional against the embedded square type. Thread is PT as standard with G and NPT as order options - this unit is G. Bracket is included.
Flow is published as curves, not a single rating, so we do not quote a rated flow number - send us your application details and we will confirm sizing from the datasheet before you order.
Quick checklist
The PC bowl must not be cleaned with solvents — wipe it with a dry cloth. Without the K option, air cannot flow back through the unit. A filter regulator adds no oil to the line.
AirTAC publishes flow for the GFR series as curves, not as a single rated figure, so we do not state a rated flow number. Send us your application details and we will confirm the flow curve and datasheet figures for this unit on request before you order.
The manual drain (code M) means an operator bleeds the polycarbonate bowl periodically, which suits attended installations; automatic or differential-pressure drains are available on other codes for unattended duty. The 5 um element (code W) is the finer option against the standard 40 um grade, chosen where downstream equipment needs finer particulate protection.
