The AirTAC GFR400-15-T AirTAC Filter Regulator 1/2 in NPT, 5 um is a genuine G-series filter regulator: water separation, 5 µm particulate filtration and balanced-type pressure regulation combined in a single body. It has PT1/2" ports, a manual drain and regulates 0.05 - 0.9 MPa (7 - 130 psi). It does not lubricate — add a GL lubricator, or order the GFC two-unit set, if downstream equipment needs oil.
The AirTAC GFR400-15-T is a filter regulator: it removes water and particulate from compressed air and sets downstream pressure in a single 400-size body. This configuration carries a 1/2 in NPT port, a manual drain bowl in polycarbonate, a fine 5 um filter element, an embedded square gauge reading in psi, and a built-in reverse/check valve that holds the downstream setting when upstream pressure is lost. The regulator is the standard type, adjustable from 0.05 to 0.9 MPa (7-130 psi), with a maximum inlet pressure of 1.0 MPa (145 psi) and an operating temperature of -5 to 70 C, non-freezing.
This is a genuine AirTAC part. The GFR family is available in sizes 200, 300, 400 and 600 with port sizes from 1/8 to 1 in, a choice of manual, automatic or differential-pressure drain, 40 um standard or 5 um fine filtration, and PT, G or NPT threads. Flow is published as curves rather than a single rating, so ask us and we will confirm the datasheet figures for your application on request.

Specifications follow the official AirTAC G-series air-preparation data. The regulating band is set by the drain type: automatic and differential-pressure drains regulate 0.15 - 0.9 MPa, a manual drain regulates 0.05 - 0.9 MPa. Standard type, regulating 0.05 - 0.9 MPa (7 - 130 psi). Air must not freeze in the unit. Flow curves, weight and outline dimensions are not published in our data set — ask us and we will confirm from the factory datasheet.
| GFR400 | G-series filter regulator, 400 body — sets the port range. |
|---|---|
| 15 | Port size PT1/2". This body offers 10 = PT3/8", 15 = PT1/2". |
| M | Drain: Manual drain — this also sets the regulating band (0.05 - 0.9 MPa (7 - 130 psi)). |
| (blank) | Standard type. Blank is standard, L is the low-pressure type. |
| J | Supplied without bracket. |
| (blank) | Pressure gauge fitted (blank). |
| F | Gauge shape: Square. C is round, F is square. |
| 2 | Gauge scale: psi. 1 is MPa, 2 is psi, 3 is bar. |
| W | Filtering grade 5 µm. Only 40 µm (blank) and 5 µm (W) exist. |
| T | NPT thread. PT is the default; G is BSPP and T is NPT. |
| K | Reverse-flow (reflux) valve fitted. |
Field order is size, port, drain, type, bracket, gauge, shape, scale, grade, thread, reflux — a blank position takes the default. Example: GFR300-08 is a 300 body, PT1/4", differential drain, standard type, bracket included, gauge fitted, 40 µm, PT thread, no reflux valve.
A larger body carries a larger port and holds set pressure better as flow rises. AirTAC publishes flow only as curves, so size the body from your peak demand with headroom. The GFR600 uses an aluminium-alloy bowl; the 200, 300 and 400 bodies use PC.

Feeds filtered, pressure-set air to the tool-change circuit and pneumatic clamps on a machining centre, with the 5 um element protecting spool valves and the check valve holding clamp pressure through supply dips.
Sits at the drop of a packaging conveyor's air header to condition supply for the cylinder banks that push, divert and stop cartons, with the psi gauge giving operators a visible setpoint at the line.
Installed at the branch take-off feeding a robotic assembly cell, cleaning the plant air to 5 um and regulating it to the cell's working pressure before it reaches the valve manifold and gripper circuit.
Start with the port step: this unit is the 400 size with a 1/2 in NPT thread, the right choice when your line is plumbed at 1/2 in and your air demand sits in the upper mid-range of the G-series; step up to size 600 or down to 300 if your piping or demand differs, and we will confirm the flow curves against your consumption before you order. The 5 um element (code W) suits downstream equipment that needs finer filtration than the 40 um standard; the manual drain means an operator opens the bowl drain during checks rather than relying on an automatic or differential-pressure mechanism. The square gauge is set to the psi scale, and MPa or bar scales are available if you prefer. The fitted reverse/check valve keeps downstream pressure stable through upstream dips. No mounting bracket is included with the J suffix, so plan your mounting plate accordingly. PT is the standard thread; G and NPT are catalogue options ordered by suffix, as on this T-version.
Quick checklist
The PC bowl must not be cleaned with solvents — wipe it with a dry cloth. The reflux valve permits reverse flow through the unit. A filter regulator adds no oil to the line.
AirTAC publishes flow for the GFR400 as curves, not as a single rated figure, so there is no one number we can honestly quote. Tell us your working pressure and air consumption and we will confirm the datasheet flow curve for this 400-size, 1/2 in unit on request before you order.
The M in the code sets the manual drain: the bowl is emptied by opening its drain fitting during routine checks, rather than by an automatic or differential-pressure mechanism. The W sets the 5 um fine filter element in place of the 40 um standard, for downstream equipment that needs cleaner air. Both are standard catalogue options on the GFR series.
