The AirTAC GFR400-15MF1T AirTAC Filter Regulator NPT1/2 - 1/2 in is a genuine G-series filter regulator: water separation, 40 µm particulate filtration and balanced-type pressure regulation combined in a single body. It has PT1/2" ports, a manual drain and regulates 0.05 - 0.9 MPa (7 - 130 psi). It does not lubricate — add a GL lubricator, or order the GFC two-unit set, if downstream equipment needs oil.
The AirTAC GFR400-15MF1T is a size 400 filter regulator: it removes water and particulate from compressed air and regulates downstream pressure in a single body. This configuration has a 1/2 in NPT port, a manual drain bowl in polycarbonate, a 40 um standard filter element, and a square pressure gauge with an MPa scale fitted as standard. Maximum inlet pressure is 1.0 MPa (145 psi), the regulator adjusts from 0.05 to 0.9 MPa (7-130 psi), and the operating temperature range is -5 to 70 C (non-freezing).
This is a genuine AirTAC part. The GFR family is available in sizes 200, 300, 400 and 600 with a choice of port, thread (PT standard, G and NPT as order options), drain type, filter grade (40 um standard, 5 um optional) and gauge scale. Flow is published as curves rather than a single rated figure, so we confirm flow and datasheet figures on request.

Specifications follow the official AirTAC G-series air-preparation data. The regulating band is set by the drain type: automatic and differential-pressure drains regulate 0.15 - 0.9 MPa, a manual drain regulates 0.05 - 0.9 MPa. Standard type, regulating 0.05 - 0.9 MPa (7 - 130 psi). Air must not freeze in the unit. Flow curves, weight and outline dimensions are not published in our data set — ask us and we will confirm from the factory datasheet.

| 15 | Port size PT1/2". This body offers 10 = PT3/8", 15 = PT1/2". |
| M | Drain: Manual drain — this also sets the regulating band (0.05 - 0.9 MPa (7 - 130 psi)). |
| (blank) | Standard type. Blank is standard, L is the low-pressure type. |

| F | Gauge shape: Square. C is round, F is square. |
| 1 | Gauge scale: MPa. 1 is MPa, 2 is psi, 3 is bar. |
| (blank) | Filtering grade 40 µm. Only 40 µm (blank) and 5 µm (W) exist. |
| T | NPT thread. PT is the default; G is BSPP and T is NPT. |
| (blank) | No reverse-flow valve (the default). |
Field order is size, port, drain, type, bracket, gauge, shape, scale, grade, thread, reflux — a blank position takes the default. Example: GFR300-08 is a 300 body, PT1/4", differential drain, standard type, bracket included, gauge fitted, 40 µm, PT thread, no reflux valve.
A larger body carries a larger port and holds set pressure better as flow rises. AirTAC publishes flow only as curves, so size the body from your peak demand with headroom. The GFR600 uses an aluminium-alloy bowl; the 200, 300 and 400 bodies use PC.

Installed at the point where the main plant air line drops down to feed a machining cell, cleaning the supply of water and swarf-carrying particulate and holding a set working pressure for the cell's air tools and clamps.
Mounted ahead of the cylinder and valve bank on a packaging conveyor, giving the line a filtered supply and a stable regulated pressure so carton-forming and sealing cylinders cycle consistently.
Fitted at a maintenance workshop air drop serving impact wrenches, grinders and blow guns, protecting the tools from moisture and dirt while letting the operator set and read the working pressure on the square MPa gauge.
Choose the size and port step against the air demand of the circuit: the GFR400 with its 1/2 in port sits in the upper mid-range of the GFR line, above the 200 and 300 sizes and below the 600. Because flow is published as curves rather than a single rating, ask us to confirm sizing against your application before ordering. This unit has a manual drain, which suits installations where an operator can bleed the bowl on a routine basis; automatic and differential-pressure drains are available in the family if unattended drainage is preferred. The 40 um element is the standard grade, with a 5 um (code W) element offered where finer filtration is needed. The square gauge here reads in MPa; psi and bar scales are options, and an external round gauge is also available. NPT is the thread on this model; PT is the catalogue standard and G (BSPP) can be ordered. A mounting bracket is included.
Quick checklist
The PC bowl must not be cleaned with solvents — wipe it with a dry cloth. Without the K option, air cannot flow back through the unit. A filter regulator adds no oil to the line.
AirTAC publishes flow for the GFR series as curves, not as a single rated figure, so we do not quote a rated flow, Cv or SCFM number. Tell us your application and we will confirm the flow and datasheet figures for this model on request before you order.
The M in the code GFR400-15MF1T specifies a manual drain bowl, which an operator empties on a routine schedule. The GFR family also offers automatic (code A) and differential-pressure (blank, the default) drains for installations that need drainage without manual attention; note the manual-drain version has the wider 0.05-0.9 MPa (7-130 psi) regulation range.
