The AirTAC GFR400-15T AirTAC Filter Regulator NPT1/2 Auto Drain is a genuine G-series filter regulator: water separation, 40 µm particulate filtration and balanced-type pressure regulation combined in a single body. It has PT1/2" ports, a automatic drain and regulates 0.15 - 0.9 MPa (20 - 130 psi). It does not lubricate — add a GL lubricator, or order the GFC two-unit set, if downstream equipment needs oil.
The AirTAC GFR400-15T is a size-400 filter regulator: it removes water and particulate from compressed air and regulates downstream pressure in a single body. This configuration has 1/2 in NPT ports, an automatic drain that ejects collected condensate without manual attention, standard 40 um filtration, and a factory-fitted embedded square gauge scaled in bar. The standard regulator covers an adjustment range of 0.15-0.9 MPa (20-130 psi), with a maximum inlet pressure of 1.0 MPa (145 psi) and an operating temperature of -5 to 70 C (non-freezing). The polycarbonate bowl suits this size, and the J code means no mounting bracket is included.
This is a genuine AirTAC part. The GFR series is available in sizes 200, 300, 400 and 600 with a choice of ports, drain types (differential-pressure, automatic or manual), filter grades (40 um standard, 5 um optional), gauge scales (MPa, psi or bar), thread options (PT standard, G or NPT) and bracket choices. Flow is published as curves rather than a single rated figure, so we confirm datasheet and sizing figures on request.

Specifications follow the official AirTAC G-series air-preparation data. The regulating band is set by the drain type: automatic and differential-pressure drains regulate 0.15 - 0.9 MPa, a manual drain regulates 0.05 - 0.9 MPa. Standard type, regulating 0.15 - 0.9 MPa (20 - 130 psi). Air must not freeze in the unit. Flow curves, weight and outline dimensions are not published in our data set — ask us and we will confirm from the factory datasheet.

| 15 | Port size PT1/2". This body offers 10 = PT3/8", 15 = PT1/2". |
| A | Drain: Automatic drain — this also sets the regulating band (0.15 - 0.9 MPa (20 - 130 psi)). |
| (blank) | Standard type. Blank is standard, L is the low-pressure type. |
| J | Supplied without bracket. |
| (blank) | Pressure gauge fitted (blank). |
| F | Gauge shape: Square. C is round, F is square. |
| 3 | Gauge scale: bar. 1 is MPa, 2 is psi, 3 is bar. |
| (blank) | Filtering grade 40 µm. Only 40 µm (blank) and 5 µm (W) exist. |
| T | NPT thread. PT is the default; G is BSPP and T is NPT. |
| (blank) | No reverse-flow valve (the default). |
Field order is size, port, drain, type, bracket, gauge, shape, scale, grade, thread, reflux — a blank position takes the default. Example: GFR300-08 is a 300 body, PT1/4", differential drain, standard type, bracket included, gauge fitted, 40 µm, PT thread, no reflux valve.
A larger body carries a larger port and holds set pressure better as flow rises. AirTAC publishes flow only as curves, so size the body from your peak demand with headroom. The GFR600 uses an aluminium-alloy bowl; the 200, 300 and 400 bodies use PC.

Feeds filtered, regulated air to clamp and fixture cylinders on a CNC machining cell, holding a stable set pressure so workpieces stay gripped through the cycle while the automatic drain keeps condensate out of the circuit.
Conditions the supply to spray guns and air-assisted applicators on a finishing line, dropping out water and 40 um particulate before the regulator sets the atomising pressure read directly off the bar gauge.
Sits upstream of diverters, pushers and stopper cylinders on a packaging conveyor, giving one clean, regulated supply point for the whole section with automatic condensate removal at the drop point.
Size 400 with 1/2 in ports sits in the upper-middle of the GFR range; step up to size 600 for larger porting and higher flow, or down to 300/200 for compact circuits - match the size to the flow your line needs rather than to port size alone. Drain choice matters in practice: the automatic drain on this model suits unattended or hard-to-reach installations, while differential-pressure (default) and manual variants suit attended cells. Filtration is 40 um standard; specify the W code for 5 um where finer protection is needed. The fitted square gauge here is bar-scaled; MPa and psi scales and an external round gauge are alternatives. Thread is NPT on this unit, with PT standard and G available to order; brackets are optional (not fitted here). Flow is published as curves, not a single rating, so ask us to confirm sizing against your application before ordering.
Quick checklist
The PC bowl must not be cleaned with solvents — wipe it with a dry cloth. Without the K option, air cannot flow back through the unit. A filter regulator adds no oil to the line.
AirTAC publishes flow for this series as curves rather than a single rated figure, so there is no one number we can quote. Tell us your line pressure, set pressure and the flow your application needs, and we will confirm the correct size from the datasheet on request.
The A code in GFR40015AJF3T specifies an automatic drain, which ejects collected condensate by itself - useful where the unit is mounted out of reach or the line runs unattended. The series also offers a manual drain and a differential-pressure drain as the default; choose based on how often someone can attend the unit.
