The AirTAC GFR40010MF2W AirTAC Filter Regulator 3/8 in, 5 um, psi gauge is a genuine G-series filter regulator: water separation, 5 µm particulate filtration and balanced-type pressure regulation combined in a single body. It has PT3/8" ports, a manual drain and regulates 0.05 - 0.9 MPa (7 - 130 psi). It does not lubricate — add a GL lubricator, or order the GFC two-unit set, if downstream equipment needs oil.
The AirTAC GFR40010MF2W is a size 400 filter regulator that removes water and particulate from compressed air and sets downstream pressure in one body. This configuration carries a 3/8 in PT port, a 5 um filter element for finer filtration than the standard 40 um grade, a manual drain you operate by hand to empty the bowl, and an embedded square gauge scaled in psi so operators can read and adjust set pressure at a glance. The manual-drain version regulates from 0.05 to 0.9 MPa (7-130 psi), with a maximum inlet pressure of 1.0 MPa (145 psi), and works from -5 to 70 C in non-freezing conditions.
This is a genuine AirTAC part. The GFR family is available in sizes 200, 300, 400 and 600 with a choice of port, thread (PT standard, G and NPT as order options), drain type, filter grade and gauge scale. Flow figures for this series are published as curves rather than a single rating, so ask us to confirm sizing and datasheet details for your application before ordering.

Specifications follow the official AirTAC G-series air-preparation data. The regulating band is set by the drain type: automatic and differential-pressure drains regulate 0.15 - 0.9 MPa, a manual drain regulates 0.05 - 0.9 MPa. Standard type, regulating 0.05 - 0.9 MPa (7 - 130 psi). Air must not freeze in the unit. Flow curves, weight and outline dimensions are not published in our data set — ask us and we will confirm from the factory datasheet.

| 10 | Port size PT3/8". This body offers 10 = PT3/8", 15 = PT1/2". |
| M | Drain: Manual drain — this also sets the regulating band (0.05 - 0.9 MPa (7 - 130 psi)). |
| (blank) | Standard type. Blank is standard, L is the low-pressure type. |
| (blank) | Mounting bracket included. |

| F | Gauge shape: Square. C is round, F is square. |
| 2 | Gauge scale: psi. 1 is MPa, 2 is psi, 3 is bar. |
| W | Filtering grade 5 µm. Only 40 µm (blank) and 5 µm (W) exist. |
| (blank) | PT thread. PT is the default; G is BSPP and T is NPT. |
| (blank) | No reverse-flow valve (the default). |
Field order is size, port, drain, type, bracket, gauge, shape, scale, grade, thread, reflux — a blank position takes the default. Example: GFR300-08 is a 300 body, PT1/4", differential drain, standard type, bracket included, gauge fitted, 40 µm, PT thread, no reflux valve.
A larger body carries a larger port and holds set pressure better as flow rises. AirTAC publishes flow only as curves, so size the body from your peak demand with headroom. The GFR600 uses an aluminium-alloy bowl; the 200, 300 and 400 bodies use PC.

Feeds filtered, pressure-set air to tool-clamp and chuck actuators on a machining centre, with the 5 um element helping protect precision valves from fine particulate.
Supplies the air cylinders that push cartons between conveyor lanes, giving line staff a local psi gauge to set and verify diverter pressure at the machine.
Conditions and regulates shop air at the booth wall so spray-gun supply pressure stays where the finish spec calls for it, with manual draining done as part of the shift routine.
Choose the size 400 / PT3/8 step when your line's flow demand sits above what a 300-size unit passes; the right way to size is against the published flow curve, which we will run through with you on request. This unit has a manual drain, which suits installations someone already visits regularly; pick automatic or differential-pressure drain instead if the bowl is mounted where access is awkward. The 5 um element (code W) is the finer option over the 40 um standard - use it where downstream valves and instruments tolerate less particulate. The square gauge here is scaled in psi; MPa and bar scales are also available. Thread is PT as standard, with G (BSPP) and NPT as order options, and a mounting bracket is included.
Quick checklist
The PC bowl must not be cleaned with solvents — wipe it with a dry cloth. Without the K option, air cannot flow back through the unit. A filter regulator adds no oil to the line.
AirTAC publishes flow for the GFR series as curves, not as a single rated figure, so we do not quote a number here. Tell us your application and we will confirm the sizing from the datasheet flow curve on request before you order.
The M in the code sets a manual drain: you open it by hand to empty collected water, which suits bowls mounted where an operator passes regularly (automatic and differential-pressure drains are available on other variants). The W sets the 5 um filter element, the finer grade over the 40 um standard, for lines with sensitive downstream valves or instruments.
