The AirTAC GFR40015ALF1WT AirTAC Filter Regulator NPT 1/2 in is a genuine G-series filter regulator: water separation, 5 µm particulate filtration and balanced-type pressure regulation combined in a single body. It has PT1/2" ports, a automatic drain and regulates 0.15 - 0.9 MPa (20 - 130 psi). It does not lubricate — add a GL lubricator, or order the GFC two-unit set, if downstream equipment needs oil.
The AirTAC GFR40015ALF1WT is a GFR-series filter regulator: it removes water and particulate from compressed air and holds downstream pressure in one body. This configuration is built on the size 400 frame with 1/2 in NPT ports, an automatic drain that clears collected condensate from the PC bowl, a 5 um filter element (code W), and the low-pressure regulator type. A square pressure gauge scaled in MPa is fitted, and a mounting bracket is included. Maximum inlet pressure is 1.0 MPa (145 psi) and the working temperature range is -5 to 70 C, non-freezing.
This is a genuine AirTAC part. The GFR family spans sizes 200, 300, 400 and 600 with port sizes from 1/8 in up to 1 in, and options across the series include manual or differential-pressure drains, the 40 um standard element, alternative gauge scales (psi or bar), G (BSPP) or NPT threads in place of the PT standard, and a reverse/check valve. Flow for this series is published as curves rather than a single rating, so ask us to confirm the datasheet and sizing figures for your application on request.

Specifications follow the official AirTAC G-series air-preparation data. The regulating band is set by the drain type: automatic and differential-pressure drains regulate 0.15 - 0.9 MPa, a manual drain regulates 0.05 - 0.9 MPa. The low-pressure type adjusts over a lower band than standard; we confirm the exact figures from the factory datasheet. Air must not freeze in the unit. Flow curves, weight and outline dimensions are not published in our data set — ask us and we will confirm from the factory datasheet.
| GFR400 | G-series filter regulator, 400 body — sets the port range. |
|---|---|
| 15 | Port size PT1/2". This body offers 10 = PT3/8", 15 = PT1/2". |
| A | Drain: Automatic drain — this also sets the regulating band (0.15 - 0.9 MPa (20 - 130 psi)). |
| L | Low-pressure type. Blank is standard, L is the low-pressure type. |
| (blank) | Mounting bracket included. |
| (blank) | Pressure gauge fitted (blank). |
| F | Gauge shape: Square. C is round, F is square. |
| 1 | Gauge scale: MPa. 1 is MPa, 2 is psi, 3 is bar. |
| W | Filtering grade 5 µm. Only 40 µm (blank) and 5 µm (W) exist. |
| T | NPT thread. PT is the default; G is BSPP and T is NPT. |
| (blank) | No reverse-flow valve (the default). |
Field order is size, port, drain, type, bracket, gauge, shape, scale, grade, thread, reflux — a blank position takes the default. Example: GFR300-08 is a 300 body, PT1/4", differential drain, standard type, bracket included, gauge fitted, 40 µm, PT thread, no reflux valve.
A larger body carries a larger port and holds set pressure better as flow rises. AirTAC publishes flow only as curves, so size the body from your peak demand with headroom. The GFR600 uses an aluminium-alloy bowl; the 200, 300 and 400 bodies use PC.

Point-of-use conditioning for carton-sealer and wrapper cylinders on a packaging line: water and debris are stripped out and the machine drop is held at a steady low working pressure.
Supplying a bench-mounted pneumatic press or clamping fixture, where the low-pressure regulator holds a gentle, repeatable clamping pressure through the shift.
Regulating air to conveyor gate and diverter cylinders at a distribution hub, with the automatic drain clearing bowl condensate so the actuators stay dry-fed.
Choose the size by the port and flow step: 200, 300, 400 and 600 map to ports from 1/8 in up to 1 in, so move up a size when your circuit needs more air - this model is size 400 with 1/2 in NPT ports. Pick the drain to suit attendance: automatic (as here) discharges condensate on its own, manual needs an operator, and the default differential-pressure drain works off the pressure drop across the element. Select the filter grade for the job: 40 um is the standard element and 5 um (code W, as here) suits finer protection downstream. Gauge scale can be MPa, psi or bar, with the square gauge embedded and an external round gauge optional. Thread is PT as standard, with G (BSPP) and NPT as orderable options; a bracket is included unless J is specified. Because flow is published as curves rather than a single rating, ask us to confirm sizing against your application before ordering.
Quick checklist
The PC bowl must not be cleaned with solvents — wipe it with a dry cloth. Without the K option, air cannot flow back through the unit. A filter regulator adds no oil to the line.
AirTAC publishes GFR400 flow as curves, not as a single rated figure, so we do not quote a number. As the size 400 frame with 1/2 in NPT ports it is one of the larger mid-range units in the family, and we will confirm the datasheet curve and check it against your application on request.
A is the automatic drain: the PC bowl discharges collected condensate without manual attention, unlike the manual (M) or differential-pressure (blank) options. W is the 5 um filter element, one grade finer than the 40 um standard. The trailing T sets NPT threads; PT is the standard thread and G (BSPP) is also orderable as a specification option.
