The AirTAC GFR40015JC2 AirTAC Filter Regulator 1/2 in, 40 um, PSI Gauge is a genuine G-series filter regulator: water separation, 40 µm particulate filtration and balanced-type pressure regulation combined in a single body. It has PT1/2" ports, a differential-pressure drain and regulates 0.15 - 0.9 MPa (20 - 130 psi). It does not lubricate — add a GL lubricator, or order the GFC two-unit set, if downstream equipment needs oil.
The GFR40015JC2 is an AirTAC GFR400 filter regulator: one body that removes water and particulate from compressed air and holds downstream pressure steady. This configuration is sized for a PT1/2 (1/2 in) port, carries the standard 40 um filter element, and drains condensate by differential pressure, so the bowl empties itself whenever the pressure differential across the element is high enough - no daily manual draining on lines that run steadily. An external round gauge with a psi scale is fitted so operators can read and set the regulated pressure directly. The polycarbonate bowl suits this 400 size, and no mounting bracket is included in this version.
This is a genuine AirTAC part. The GFR family is published in sizes 200, 300, 400 and 600, with port options from 1/8 in to 1 in, manual or automatic drain alternatives, a 5 um element (code W), square or round gauges with MPa, psi or bar scales, and G or NPT thread variants to order. Rated flow is published as curves rather than a single figure, so ask us and we will confirm the datasheet figures for your application on request.

Specifications follow the official AirTAC G-series air-preparation data. The regulating band is set by the drain type: automatic and differential-pressure drains regulate 0.15 - 0.9 MPa, a manual drain regulates 0.05 - 0.9 MPa. Standard type, regulating 0.15 - 0.9 MPa (20 - 130 psi). Air must not freeze in the unit. Flow curves, weight and outline dimensions are not published in our data set — ask us and we will confirm from the factory datasheet.

| C | Gauge shape: Round. C is round, F is square. |
| 2 | Gauge scale: psi. 1 is MPa, 2 is psi, 3 is bar. |
| (blank) | Filtering grade 40 µm. Only 40 µm (blank) and 5 µm (W) exist. |

| (blank) | No reverse-flow valve (the default). |
Field order is size, port, drain, type, bracket, gauge, shape, scale, grade, thread, reflux — a blank position takes the default. Example: GFR300-08 is a 300 body, PT1/4", differential drain, standard type, bracket included, gauge fitted, 40 µm, PT thread, no reflux valve.
A larger body carries a larger port and holds set pressure better as flow rises. AirTAC publishes flow only as curves, so size the body from your peak demand with headroom. The GFR600 uses an aluminium-alloy bowl; the 200, 300 and 400 bodies use PC.

On a stamping or forming cell, the GFR40015JC2 conditions the air feeding clamp and hold-down cylinders: the 40 um element keeps debris out of valve seats while the regulator holds a fixed clamping pressure, read on the round psi gauge, so every cycle clamps with the same force.
On a food or consumer-goods packaging line, this filter regulator supplies the air for bag-openers, sealers and divert cylinders. The differential-pressure drain keeps condensate off the product zone without operator rounds, and the 1/2 in port supports the line's main air drop.
At a branch take-off from a factory air main, the GFR40015JC2 gives a work zone its own filtered, regulated supply. Water and scale from the main are caught in the bowl, the regulated pressure is set in psi on the fitted gauge, and downstream tools and actuators each see clean, stable air.
Step up or down through the GFR sizes (200/300/400/600) against the flow your line needs - each size step carries a larger port, from 1/8 in up to 1 in, and this 400 unit sits at PT1/2. Choose the drain to match your duty: differential-pressure (as here) for steady-running lines, automatic for intermittent duty, or manual where you want drain timing under operator control. The standard element is 40 um; specify 5 um (code W) if downstream equipment needs finer filtration. Gauges come as the embedded square type or an external round gauge, scaled in MPa, psi or bar - this unit has a round psi gauge. PT is the standard thread; G (BSPP) and NPT are orderable options. Brackets are optional on this family. Flow is published as curves, not a single rating, so send us your air demand and we will confirm sizing against the datasheet before you order.
Quick checklist
The PC bowl must not be cleaned with solvents — wipe it with a dry cloth. Without the K option, air cannot flow back through the unit. A filter regulator adds no oil to the line.
AirTAC publishes flow for the GFR400 as curves, not as a single rated figure, so we do not quote a number here. Tell us your air demand and line pressure and we will confirm the datasheet flow figures for this PT1/2 unit on request before you order.
This configuration drains condensate automatically whenever the pressure drop across the 40 um element is high enough, which suits steadily running lines. If your duty is intermittent or you prefer operator-controlled draining, the same GFR400-15 body is available with an automatic (A) or manual (M) drain - just ask for that variant.
