The AirTAC GFR40015MJC3T AirTAC Filter Regulator NPT1/2, 1/2 in is a genuine G-series filter regulator: water separation, 40 µm particulate filtration and balanced-type pressure regulation combined in a single body. It has PT1/2" ports, a manual drain and regulates 0.05 - 0.9 MPa (7 - 130 psi). It does not lubricate — add a GL lubricator, or order the GFC two-unit set, if downstream equipment needs oil.
The AirTAC GFR400 series combines water-and-particulate filtration with pressure regulation in a single body. This configuration, the GFR40015MJC3T, is the size 400 unit with 1/2 in NPT ports, a manual drain bowl, the standard 40 um filter element and a round pressure gauge scaled in bar. The standard regulator covers an adjustment range of 0.05-0.9 MPa (7-130 psi), maximum inlet pressure is 1.0 MPa (145 psi), and the working temperature range is -5 to 70 C (non-freezing). The polycarbonate bowl is drained by hand, so it suits installations where an operator checks the bowl as part of routine rounds.
This is a genuine AirTAC part. The GFR family is published in sizes 200, 300, 400 and 600, with port options from 1/8 in to 1 in, PT as the standard thread and G (BSPP) or NPT as order options, plus automatic or differential-pressure drains, a 5 um element (code W), embedded square or external round gauges and optional mounting brackets. Flow is published as curves rather than a single rated figure, so ask us to confirm the datasheet figures for your application.

Specifications follow the official AirTAC G-series air-preparation data. The regulating band is set by the drain type: automatic and differential-pressure drains regulate 0.15 - 0.9 MPa, a manual drain regulates 0.05 - 0.9 MPa. Standard type, regulating 0.05 - 0.9 MPa (7 - 130 psi). Air must not freeze in the unit. Flow curves, weight and outline dimensions are not published in our data set — ask us and we will confirm from the factory datasheet.

|---|---|
| 15 | Port size PT1/2". This body offers 10 = PT3/8", 15 = PT1/2". |
| M | Drain: Manual drain — this also sets the regulating band (0.05 - 0.9 MPa (7 - 130 psi)). |
| (blank) | Standard type. Blank is standard, L is the low-pressure type. |
| J | Supplied without bracket. |
| (blank) | Pressure gauge fitted (blank). |
| C | Gauge shape: Round. C is round, F is square. |
| 3 | Gauge scale: bar. 1 is MPa, 2 is psi, 3 is bar. |
| (blank) | Filtering grade 40 µm. Only 40 µm (blank) and 5 µm (W) exist. |
| T | NPT thread. PT is the default; G is BSPP and T is NPT. |
| (blank) | No reverse-flow valve (the default). |
Field order is size, port, drain, type, bracket, gauge, shape, scale, grade, thread, reflux — a blank position takes the default. Example: GFR300-08 is a 300 body, PT1/4", differential drain, standard type, bracket included, gauge fitted, 40 µm, PT thread, no reflux valve.
A larger body carries a larger port and holds set pressure better as flow rises. AirTAC publishes flow only as curves, so size the body from your peak demand with headroom. The GFR600 uses an aluminium-alloy bowl; the 200, 300 and 400 bodies use PC.

Feeding filtered, regulated air to the clamping cylinders of a metal-stamping press line, where the operator drains the bowl during shift checks and the bar gauge gives a direct setpoint reading.
Conditioning the supply ahead of the diverters, stoppers and pusher cylinders on a food or carton packaging conveyor, with the 40 um element keeping water and debris out of the valve stack.
Cleaning and regulating the shop air that supplies tool changers, air bearings and chip-blow-off nozzles on a CNC machine, with the 1/2 in ports matching the machine's main air inlet.
Start with the port and size step: size 400 with 1/2 in ports sits in the middle of the GFR range, and the right step depends on the air demand of the circuit downstream - we can check the published flow curves against your requirement before you order. For the drain, this unit is manual, which keeps maintenance explicit; the automatic and differential-pressure drain options remove that manual step if the installation is unattended. The 40 um element is the standard grade; specify the W variant for 5 um filtration if the downstream equipment needs finer protection. The round gauge on this unit reads in bar; square embedded gauges and MPa or psi scales are available in the family. Thread is NPT on this code, with PT standard and G (BSPP) as the other order option, and this configuration is supplied without a mounting bracket - a bracketed variant can be selected if panel mounting is planned.
One honest note on sizing: AirTAC publishes flow for this family as curves, not as a single rated number, so we do not quote a flow figure here. Send us your application details and we will confirm the sizing against the datasheet before you order.
Quick checklist
The PC bowl must not be cleaned with solvents — wipe it with a dry cloth. Without the K option, air cannot flow back through the unit. A filter regulator adds no oil to the line.
AirTAC publishes flow for the GFR400 series as curves rather than a single rated figure, so we do not quote a flow number here. Tell us your application and downstream air demand, and we will confirm the sizing against the datasheet on request before you order.
The M in the code GFR40015MJC3T specifies a manual drain: the polycarbonate bowl is emptied by hand as part of routine maintenance. The GFR400 family is also available with an automatic drain (code A) or a differential-pressure drain (blank), which suit unattended installations - just ask for the equivalent code.
