Crucially, the 5500 N holding force is a distinct static clamp rating, separate from the cylinder's 5497 N dynamic thrust, meaning you must size the clamp against the dead load, not the push force. Remember that the variable air cushion only decelerates the piston near stroke ends; the mechanical clamp is the true load holder. Unlocking requires a third G1/8 enclasp port and balanced air pressure on both sides of the piston to prevent the rod from jumping abruptly upon release.

Choose this 100mm bore when a 63mm bore (1402 N thrust, 2200 N holding force) is insufficient to safely suspend your load. The BSAI100X225-S is preferred over a SAIL stroke-end lock when you must freeze the rod mid-travel rather than solely at the extremes. If you only need standard extension without mid-stroke holding, a plain SAI cylinder suffices. This single-rod unit uses a 1/2 inch PT port for the cylinder and a G1/8 port for the enclasp.
The robust M20x1.5 rod thread handles high side loads well, but at 225mm stroke you should still use an external guide rail for heavy offset loads. It accepts Basic, FA, FB, CA, CB, CR, LB, TC, TCM1, and TCM2 mounts. Note that the clamp locks only after the rod stops moving, so it cannot brake a moving load; human-safety applications require an independent external safety measure.
