AirTAC Pneumatics
The AirTAC TCL series is a JIS-standard double-acting guided cylinder with twin steel-ball linear bearings, spanning 12-100mm bores for high-precision, high-load vertical lifts without an external guide.
inventory_2271 models availableThe AirTAC TCL series is a genuine JIS-standard guided (twin-rod) cylinder. A drive piston runs between two guide rods carried in a steel-ball linear bearing within one integrated body. This guide unit prevents rotation and carries side load and torque, eliminating the need for an external linear guide or slide. It is the low-friction, high-precision, high-load option ideal for vertical lifts and accurate travel.
The series spans 10 bores from 12 to 100mm. Ports are fixed by bore: M5x0.8 for 12/16mm, 1/8 inch for 20-40mm, 1/4 inch for 50/63mm, and 3/8 inch for 80/100mm. Non-rotating accuracy ranges from about +/-0.08 degrees on the 12mm bore to +/-0.04 degrees on the large bores.
Force class spans push thrust of about 57N at 12mm up to 3927N at 100mm (at 0.5 MPa). The guides add stiffness, not thrust. The design is double acting only. The guide and fixing plate serves as the mounting interface, and an -S magnet variant is available for switches. It is not an ISO 6432 mini, ISO 15552, or tie-rod cylinder.

The steel-ball linear bearing provides low-friction support for vertical loads, preventing rod drop and ensuring smooth elevation in packaging and assembly lines.
With non-rotating accuracy down to +/-0.04 degrees on larger bores, the TCL series precisely positions grippers for delicate electronic component placement without external guides.
The integrated twin-rod design carries high torque and side loads during heavy carton pushing tasks, utilizing the 100mm bore to deliver up to 3927N of push force.
Choose within the TCL series by matching the bore to your load and the required non-rotating accuracy. The 12-40mm bores handle lighter precise moves, while 50-100mm bores deliver up to 3927N push force at 0.5 MPa for heavy lifting. Select the -S magnet option if you need position sensing. Always confirm these 5 points: bore size, stroke, port thread, mounting plate interface, and magnet/voltage.
Step out of the TCL series to the neighbouring AirTAC TCM family if your application involves high impact or dusty environments. The TCM uses a brass sliding bearing and adds smaller 6/10mm bores. Choose TCL for precise, low-friction, high-load, or vertical guided moves without a separate linear guide.
Quick checklist
The TCL series spans 10 bores from 12 to 100mm. At 0.5 MPa, the push force ranges from about 57N on the 12mm bore to 3927N on the 100mm bore. The twin guide rods add stiffness and side-load capacity, not additional thrust.
The TCL uses a steel-ball linear bearing for low-friction, high-precision, and high-load vertical moves. The TCM uses a brass sliding bearing better suited for high-impact or dusty duty, and adds smaller 6/10mm bores not found in the TCL range.
No. The TCL is a JIS-standard guided twin-rod cylinder. It is not an ISO 6432 mini cylinder, an ISO 15552 profile cylinder, or a tie-rod cylinder. It cannot be used as a drop-in ISO swap.
No. The TCL is a double-acting air cylinder and does not hold position when pressure is lost. The steel-ball bearing reduces friction but does not brake the load. A mechanical lock, rod brake, or pilot check valve is required for load holding.
