The AirTAC TMICM series is a guided cylinder built as a guide frame combined with a mini cylinder. Twin guide rods carry the side load and torque so the small piston rod does not have to, giving high resistance to twisting and lateral load. Stocked bores are 16, 20 and 25 mm, with strokes from 25 mm to 200 mm on bore 16 and up to 250 mm on bores 20 and 25. Every model is double acting with an adjustable cushion.
Operating pressure is 0.15-1.0 MPa (22-145 psi), speed 30-500 mm/s and temperature -20 to +70 C on air filtered to 40 micron or finer. Ports are M5x0.8 on bore 16 and PT1/8 on bores 20 and 25; all 47 live SKUs are PT or M5 form, and G-thread versions are available to order. Mounting suits multiple orientations. The M in the code means a bronze sliding bushing: the catalogue gives the M type greater torsional rigidity than the L linear-bearing type and recommends it for radial loads such as braking and stopping. AirTAC claims no ISO standard for the TMI/TMIC family, so it is not an ISO 6432 or ISO 15552 drop-in.
A magnet option (code S) is fitted on 24 of the 47 stocked SKUs for switch position detection; confirm the matching switch series from the datasheet. Prices run $85.83 to $155.62, roughly 15-20% below the TMICL linear-bearing equivalent. A standalone guide frame with no cylinder is ordered under the F-TMIC accessory code.

Fixture clamping with side load
Clamping stations on small assembly fixtures often push a part against an edge or stop, putting radial load on the actuator. The TMICM twin guide rods and bronze bushing take that side load and torque instead of the piston rod, and the adjustable cushion softens contact.
Product stopping on conveyor lines
Braking and stopping actions are the catalogue's own example for the M sliding-bearing type. A 20 or 25 mm bore TMICM can stop cartons on a light conveyor without the rod twisting under the side load, with strokes to 250 mm covering most lane widths.
Guided pushers in packaging machinery
Label-head pushers and case-positioning slides need straight, non-twisting strokes in tight space. The 16-25 mm bores and 25-250 mm stocked strokes fit compact packing machines, and the adjustable cushion eases end-of-stroke impact at speeds up to 500 mm/s.

How to Choose the Right Model
Start with the load direction. The bronze bushing (M) suits duty where the cylinder takes radial load - braking, stopping, clamping against a fixture - and offers greater torsional rigidity. If your motion is low-friction lifting or high-precision pushing, the TMICL linear-bearing version is the better match at about 15-20% higher price. Pick bore 16 for light guides and small clamps, bore 20 or 25 when torque or side load rises. Standard strokes step 25, 50, 75, 100, 125, 150 and 200 mm (250 mm on bores 20 and 25); the stroke is tied to the bore in the ordering rules, so a non-table stroke needs a custom enquiry. Add S to the code for a magnet.
Step outside the series when the frame runs out. Above 25 mm bore or 250 mm stroke, move to AirTAC TSAIM - the same guide-frame idea on a standard cylinder with bores 32-100 mm and strokes to 500 mm. If you prefer guide rods integrated in one body rather than a frame bolted to a cylinder, look at TCM or TCL, which also reach 6 and 10 mm bore. If your load has no side force at all, a plain MI or MIC mini cylinder removes the guide frame cost. Before ordering, confirm five points: bore, stroke (and the bore-stroke dependency), port thread (M5x0.8 or PT1/8, or G to order), mounting orientation, and whether you need the magnet -S option.
