AirTAC Pneumatics
The AirTAC GFR series is an economy filter regulator that removes water and particles and holds steady downstream pressure in one body, in four sizes from 1/8 to 1 inch ports for machine air inlets.
inventory_21493 models availableAirTAC's GFR series is the G-series economy filter regulator: a filter and a pressure regulator built into a single body. Air enters the filter section, where condensed water and solid particles are separated into the drain bowl, then passes a balanced-type regulating mechanism that reduces and holds a steady downstream pressure. The unit is fitted at the machine air inlet, ahead of the directional valves and actuators it supplies. There is no lubricator in this body - it is a two-function unit.
The range runs in four bodies. GFR200 takes 1/8 or 1/4 inch ports, GFR300 takes 1/4, 3/8 or 1/2 inch, GFR400 takes 3/8 or 1/2 inch, and GFR600 takes 3/4 or 1 inch - a stocked span from 1/8 to 1 inch. Every body shares one specification: maximum inlet pressure 1.0 MPa (145 psi), a 40 um filtering grade with a 5 um (W) option, -5 to +70 C operation, an embedded square pressure gauge, and PT, G or NPT threads. GFR200, GFR300 and GFR400 use a polycarbonate bowl; the GFR600 bowl is aluminium alloy.
Options set the working behaviour. The default differential-pressure drain needs no power and discharges as pressure cycles; code A adds an automatic drain for installs that are awkward to reach; code M is a manual drain that widens the adjustment floor to 0.05 MPa (7 psi) for very low set-points, against the 0.15-0.9 MPa (20-130 psi) window of the other drains. L marks a lower-pressure type, K attaches a reflux valve, and the gauge can be deleted (N) or ordered in MPa, psi or bar scales.

On packaging and assembly machinery, a GFR300 at the air inlet strips condensed water and particles before they reach the directional valves and cylinders, holding line pressure steady through supply swings.
Print and converting machines running very low pressures use the manual-drain (M) version, which adjusts down to 0.05 MPa, with the 5 um (W) element to protect sensitive valve internals from fine particles.
A compact GFR200 with 1/8 or 1/4 inch ports mounted beside a 3V or 4V solenoid valve feeds clean, regulated air straight to the actuator it drives.
The GFR600 covers 3/4 and 1 inch ports with an aluminium-alloy bowl, and the automatic drain (A) keeps unattended plant drops clear of condensate without operator access.
Size the body to the machine's air demand, not to the pipe on hand - undersizing starves everything downstream. Small lines and point-of-use drops start at GFR200 (1/8-1/4 inch), general machine supplies suit GFR300 (1/4-1/2 inch), heavier machine circuits use GFR400 (3/8-1/2 inch), and main lines or large consumers need GFR600 (3/4-1 inch). Then match the drain to the service: differential-pressure where an operator passes regularly, automatic (A) where the unit is hard to reach, manual (M) where set-points below 0.15 MPa are required.
Confirm five points before ordering: body size against air demand; port size and thread (PT, G or NPT); drain type (blank, A or M); element grade (40 um standard, 5 um with W); and gauge choice with its MPa, psi or bar scale, plus whether a reflux valve (K) is needed. Step out of the series when the circuit also needs oil mist - that is the two-unit GFC or the three-unit GC F.R.L. If you want only filtration or only regulation, the GF filter and GR regulator share the same body sizes, and the higher-end GAFR series offers more options.
Quick checklist
Maximum inlet pressure is 1.0 MPa (145 psi) on every body. With the standard differential-pressure drain or the automatic drain (A), the regulator adjusts from 0.15 to 0.9 MPa (20-130 psi). With the manual drain (M), the floor drops to 0.05 MPa (7 psi), giving a 0.05-0.9 MPa window for very low set-points.
The default differential-pressure drain discharges condensate as pressure cycles and needs no power. Code A is an automatic drain for units mounted where an operator cannot easily reach the bowl. Code M is a manual drain drained by an operator, and it also widens the adjustment floor from 0.15 to 0.05 MPa. The filtering grade is 40 um standard or 5 um with the W option.
The GFR is a filter plus regulator in one body with no lubricator. Add oil mist with the two-unit GFC (filter-regulator plus lubricator) or the three-unit GC F.R.L. For a single function, the GF filter and GR regulator share the same body sizes, and the higher-end GAFR series offers more options in the same family.
AirtacDistr supplies genuine AirTAC GFR units under catalogue codes such as GFR30008 or GFR20006C1W; the B52- prefix marks the copper-free line. We hold no published flow figure for the G series, so send your air demand and we confirm the correct body size and options from the datasheet before you order.
