The code tells you the job. A-codes are stroke adjustment screws that set the stop position mechanically: -A covers the front and rear ends, -AS is the front end only and -AF is the rear end only. How to Choose the Right Model
Start from the job. If you need to set or trim where the piston stops, choose the A-code adjustment screw; if you need to soften the arrival, choose the B-code hydraulic cushion. Then choose the end: the -S codes cover the front end only, -F codes the rear end only, and the plain letter covers both. Finally match the size to the cylinder. Before ordering, confirm five points: the series (HLQ, HLQL, HLS, HLSL, ACA or HGS), the size, the end (front, rear or both), the code letter (A or B, plus S or F), and the exact model code printed on your cylinder.
