The AirTAC MTBL series is a single-acting, spring-return pull aluminum mini cylinder. Air pressure retracts the rod, while an internal spring pushes it back out. This fail-safe extended design ensures the rod remains in the outward position during air loss, making it ideal for safety and default-state operations.
The series spans four bores: 20, 25, 32, and 40 mm. Ports are G1/8 for the 20, 25, and 32 mm bores, and G1/4 for the 40 mm bore, with rod diameters of 8, 10, 12, and 16 mm respectively. Net retract force equals the air force minus the return-spring force, requiring a minimum pressure before motion. Size the specific model from its datasheet figure.
It features a riveted rolling-packed aluminum body with fixed bumpers for end-of-stroke deceleration only. The MTBL is the current replacement for the discontinued MTAL series. It is an aluminum mini round cylinder that does not conform to ISO 6432 or ISO 15552 standards. An optional magnet (-S) supports CMSG, DMSG, and EMSG sensors.

How to Choose the Right Model
Choose the MTBL when your mechanism requires the rod to hold an extended default state and retract only under air pressure. Select the bore size based on your required net retract force, keeping in mind the return-spring offset and minimum operating pressure. Step out of the MTBL series to the MSBL if you need a single-acting push type (spring-return retracted), or to the MBL for double-acting operation.
