AirTAC has phased out the MAL series. The drop-in replacement is ASE100X10SB — same bore, stroke, output force, port and mounting, so it fits the same application. The ACE replacement is a current-production ISO 21287 compact cylinder in the same bore, stroke and force class, with a matching short body and the same mounting-accessory family, so it fits the same envelope. The AirTAC Airtac ASP Single Acting Guided Compact Cylinder ASP100X10SB is a single acting, push (spring return) DIN-standard tight/compact air cylinder with a Ø100mm bore and 10mm stroke, 1/4" air ports and a hard-anodized aluminium body. This model is discontinued — the current-production replacement is the ASE100X10SB (ISO 21287 ACE), in the same bore, stroke and force class.
A single acting push cylinder with spring return, the discontinued ASP100X10SB uses a 100 mm bore to deliver 3640.7 N of rod force at 0.5 MPa (5211.5 N at 0.7 MPa), both figures already net of the return spring. Air extends the rod and the spring retracts it, so one air line is enough and the unit starts moving from 0.2 MPa. The 10 mm stroke suits short clamp-and-release moves, and the male rod thread (B code) bolts straight to standard knuckles.
The short ISO 21287-class body saves roughly 50% of the mounting length of an ISO 15552 profile cylinder, which matters inside tight press fixtures and guarding. Because this model carries the -S magnet code, CMSE or DMSE reed and solid-state switches can be fitted for end-of-stroke signals. For sizing, halve the 371 kg force equivalent and you can lift about 185 kg vertically with a 2:1 margin; plan on roughly 2180 N of usable work at 0.5 MPa. This model is discontinued - the current-production drop-in is ASE100X10, so confirm ISO 21287 mounting dimensions before swapping.

With the -S magnet fitted, a DMSE switch confirms the rod fully extended against a cast part before the robot cell advances.
At 0.5 MPa this 100 mm bore pushes 3640.7 N net of the spring; if your fixture needs less, the 80 mm ASP80X10SB gives 2316.2 N in the same compact family, while there is no larger bore in the range. Remember the spring returns the rod home on air loss - it will not hold a mid-stroke position. Mounting brackets (FA/FB flange, LB foot, CA/CB clevis) and the optional -S magnet for CMSE / DMSE switches should be matched to the fixture. Order the ASE100X10 replacement, confirming ISO 21287 dimensions first.
