The AirTAC BSE80X25S is a double-acting ISO 15552 profile cylinder featuring an integrated spring-applied, air-released rod lock. It delivers a 3600 N bidirectional static holding force with no live air, providing true fail-safe drift protection for vertical or suspended loads. Operating pressure is capped at 0.7 MPa, and a separate G1/8 release port governs the lock.
The lock uses a clamping collet mechanism, not the adjustable air cushions, to hold the rod firmly in both directions. Because it is a static hold, you must engage the lock only after the rod stops and release it only when piston pressures are balanced, allowing at least 0.5 s before moving. The -S option equips this unit with a magnet for CMSE reed and DMSE electronic sensors.
