AirTAC MAC Series Cushioned Mini Cylinders

The MAC is AirTAC's standard round-body mini cylinder: double acting, with a variable air cushion at both ends, spanning bores from 16 mm up to 63 mm. Push force at 0.5 MPa runs from about 100 N on the 16 mm bore to about 1558 N on the 63 mm bore, so one series covers light pick-and-place work through to medium-duty clamping and pressing.

Every MAC shares the same construction: a high-precision stainless-steel barrel with aluminium-alloy covers and a stainless-steel block rolled onto it, forming a reliable sealed rolling-packed unit. The carbon-steel piston rod carries a 20 um hard-chrome plating, and the piston uses a two-way seal that also stores grease, so lubrication is not required. A magnet is built in as standard on every model, so CMSG, DMSG or EMSG switches can be added for end-of-stroke feedback at any time.

Ports follow the bore: M5x0.8 at 16 mm, 1/8 inch at 20-40 mm and 1/4 inch at 50/63 mm. All models run on 0.15-1.0 MPa of filtered air, from -20 to +70 C, at 30-800 mm/s. The variable cushion is tuned with needle screws on site to soften end-of-stroke deceleration; it is not a brake, and the cylinder does not hold position on air loss.
