The clamp locks only after the rod has stopped; it cannot brake a moving load. Furthermore, it must be unlocked with balanced pressures on both piston sides, or the rod may jump abruptly. Safety-critical applications require an independent external measure. This 300 mm stroke benefits from an external guide to support side loads.
