The BSAID100X700 outperforms a stroke-end-only SAIL lock because it clamps anywhere, whereas a plain SAID suffices if locking is entirely unnecessary. At 700 mm, the M20x1.5 rod thread handles side loads well, but the long unsupported stroke necessitates an external guide to prevent binding.
For safe operation, the clamp locks only after the piston has completely stopped; it cannot brake a moving rod. It must be unlocked with balanced air pressures on both sides of the piston, or the rod may jump abruptly. Safety-critical loads require an additional independent safety measure. This model uses PT port threads, accepts Basic, FA, LB, TC, TCM1, and TCM2 mountings (omitting FB, CA, CB, CR), and operates at 30-500 mm/s.
