Select this BSAID clamp-lock over an AirTAC SAIL cylinder when you need to lock the load at any intermediate stroke position rather than just at the end of travel. If mid-stroke holding is unnecessary, a plain SAID double-rod cylinder suffices.
For safe operation, the clamp locks only after the rod has completely stopped; it cannot brake a moving load. The rod must be unlocked with balanced air pressures on both sides of the piston to prevent abrupt movement upon release. For safety-critical applications, an additional independent safety measure is required. This configuration uses PT tapered threads, a 1/2 inch cylinder port, and an M27x2 rod thread. The large 32 mm rod handles high side loads, but the 900 mm stroke still necessitates an external guide to prevent binding. It supports Basic, FA, LB, TC, TCM1, and TCM2 mounts, omitting FB, CA, CB, and CR styles.
