Because it is a double-rod unit, the thrust is identical in both directions at 825 N at 0.5 MPa. Remember that the clamp holding force is a separate quantity from the cylinder thrust; you must size the holding force against your static load, not the push or pull thrust.
A rod extending from both ends allows you to mount a workpiece on one side and a guide or counterweight on the other, providing dual-side guidance and anti-rotation. The enclasp mechanism uses a third G1/8 port to release the grip, requiring 0.15-0.7 MPa of balanced pressure to unlock safely. Note that the variable air cushion only decelerates the piston near stroke end; the clamp itself is what holds the load.

Choose this BSAID50X175 when you need equal force both ways and a rod out both ends for mounting external guides. Select a plain SAID if you do not need mid-stroke holding, or a SAIL if holding only at the stroke end is sufficient. The clamp locks only after the cylinder has stopped; it cannot brake a moving rod. Safety-critical applications require an additional independent safety measure.
This configuration uses standard carbon steel rods and PT tapered ports. The 20 mm rod diameter and M16x1.5 thread handle side loads well, but for a 175 mm stroke an external guide is still recommended. It supports Basic, FA, LB, TC, TCM1, and TCM2 mountings (omitting FB, CA, CB, CR). Without a -S magnet, it will not host CMSE reed or DMSE electronic sensors.
