Choose this clamp-lock over a plain SAID when power loss could cause a vertical drop anywhere in the travel. It also outperforms a SAIL cylinder, which only holds at stroke ends, by gripping at any position.
For safe operation, ensure the cylinder has fully stopped before applying the clamp, as it cannot brake a moving rod. When unlocking, balance the air pressures on both sides of the piston to prevent the rod from jumping abruptly. Safety-critical loads require an additional independent holding measure. This model features a PT tapered port thread, a carbon steel rod, and accepts Basic, FA, LB, TC, TCM1, or TCM2 mountings (omitting FB, CA, CB, CR found on single-rod versions). The M16x1.5 rod thread handles side loads well, but for any stroke over 300 mm, add an external guide.
