The AirTAC BSE100X700 is a double-acting ISO 15552 profile cylinder with an integrated spring-applied, air-released rod lock. A collet clamps the 25mm rod automatically, delivering a 5500 N bidirectional static holding force to secure loads in place without requiring live air.
Operating pressure is capped at 0.15-0.7 MPa, and the lock is released via a separate G1/8 port. The lock is a holding device, not a dynamic brake; it must only be engaged after the rod stops, and released when piston pressures are balanced. This SKU has no magnet, meaning position sensing is not supported.
Rod Lock — 5500 N Static Holding (Ø100mm)
A spring clamps the collet onto the rod, so the Airtac BSE Clamp Standard Cylinder BSE100X700 holds its position in both directions when air is lost, exhausted or an E-stop trips. Apply 0.15–0.7 MPa to the G1/8 release port to unlock. Engage the lock only after the rod has stopped (it is not a dynamic brake), and release only when the pressures on both sides of the piston are balanced. Allow at least 0.5 s for full release before moving.

Is the Airtac BSE Clamp Standard Cylinder BSE100X700 the Right Cylinder?
Verify your suspended load does not exceed the 5500 N holding force. If your load is lighter, a BSE80X700 offers 2513 N push at 0.5 MPa and a 3600 N hold. If you need more drive force, the BSE125X700 provides 6136 N push at 0.5 MPa and 8600 N hold. Always allow at least 0.5 s for full release before moving.
With a 700mm stroke, use external guide rails to prevent side-load wear on the seals. This unit replaces any ISO 15552 cylinder matching its 100mm bore, 700mm stroke, PT1/2 port, and basic mounting. SE mounting accessories fit perfectly, except FTC which is unavailable for BSE.
