The AirTAC SAILB200X225 is a double-acting ISO 15552 profile cylinder equipped with a mechanical lock in the back cover. The locker end features a 28mm variable air cushion, which is intentionally shorter than the 50mm cushion on the free end to accommodate the locking hardware. For position sensing, adding a magnet allows the use of CMSE reed or DMSE solid-state sensors. Remember the lock engages statically after the piston stops; it is not a dynamic brake for a moving rod.

The lock is spring-applied and air-released: a spring drives a lock pin into the rod when the release air is removed, so the load is held at the retracted (rod-in) stroke end without live pressure. Supply air to the release port to unlock automatically, or use the manual release lever.
The lock engages only when the piston reaches the stroke terminal on the back-cover side — it is a static end-of-stroke hold, not a mid-stroke clamp and not a moving-rod brake. For locking at any position along the stroke, choose a BSAI clamp-lock instead.

Select this SAILB variant to secure loads at the rod-in retracted end, and choose SAILF instead if the extended rod-out end must be held. If your process requires clamping at an arbitrary mid-stroke point rather than a stroke-end stop, select the BSAI clamp-lock cylinder instead.
When integrating this cylinder, never use a fast-exhaust valve, as back-pressure on the locker side can unintentionally release the lock; an independent-exhaust solenoid valve is required. The PT tapered port threads and full ISO 15552 mounting interface ensure straightforward replacement. Finally, if human safety depends on the load remaining suspended, always add an independent mechanical safety measure beyond the pneumatic lock.
