For applications requiring mid-stroke clamping at an arbitrary position rather than end-of-stroke holding, the BSAI clamp-lock cylinder is the appropriate solution.
Remember that this lock is a static holding device that engages only after the cylinder has stopped, not a dynamic brake for a moving rod. Safety-critical suspended loads should always use an independent mechanical backup.
