The lock is spring-applied and air-released: a spring drives a lock pin into the rod when the release air is removed, so the load is held at the extended (rod-out) stroke end without live pressure. Supply air to the release port to unlock automatically, or use the manual release lever.
The lock engages only when the piston reaches the stroke terminal on the front-cover side — it is a static end-of-stroke hold, not a mid-stroke clamp and not a moving-rod brake. For locking at any position along the stroke, choose a BSAI clamp-lock instead.

Choose this 100mm bore when a 80mm cylinder (2513N push at 0.5 MPa) lacks the thrust for your extended-load holding task, or step down if a 63mm bore (1559N) is sufficient. Select the SAILF configuration when the load must be secured at the rod-out position; if you need to hold the retracted position, use a SAILB model instead. If your application requires clamping at an arbitrary mid-stroke point rather than the stroke terminal, the BSAI clamp-lock cylinder is the correct choice.
This lock is a static holding device that engages after the cylinder stops, not a dynamic brake for a moving rod. Avoid using fast-exhaust valves, as back-pressure on the locker side can unintentionally release the lock; utilize an independent-exhaust solenoid valve instead. For any human-safety critical lifting application, always add an independent mechanical safety measure. With a 350mm stroke, ensure adequate external guide support to prevent excessive side-loading on the rod. Replacement specifications: 100mm bore, 350mm stroke, front locker, PT 1/2 port, no standard magnet, and ISO 15552 mounting.
