Buyers must distinguish this holding force from thrust: the 5500 N clamp capacity resists the static load, whereas the 3681 N thrust drives the motion.
The dual-rod design allows you to mount a workpiece on one end and a counterweight, guide, or position flag on the opposite end, providing dual-side guidance and anti-rotation. A third G1/8 enclasp port controls the unlock mechanism, which requires balanced air pressures on both sides of the piston to prevent the rod from jumping abruptly upon release. Stepping down to a bore 80 reduces the clamp hold to 3600 N and the pull thrust to 2268 N at 0.5 MPa, whereas moving up to a 125 bore increases the hold to 8600 N. Select BSAID over a stroke-end-only SAIL model when you must freeze the load mid-travel. The clamp locks only after the rod stops, so it cannot brake moving loads, and safety-critical applications need an independent external measure.
For replacement, verify the 100mm bore, 900mm stroke, and PT-threaded 1/2 cylinder ports (plus the G1/8 enclasp port). The BSAID mounting set omits FB, CA, CB, and CR, accepting Basic, FA, LB, TC, TCM1, and TCM2. This 900mm stroke exceeds 300mm, so an external guide is strongly recommended to manage side loads on the extended rod.
