It is crucial to distinguish this 3600 N holding force from the cylinder's 2268 N thrust—the clamp secures the static load independently of pneumatic pressure, whereas thrust dictates movement. The clamp engages only after the rod stops; it cannot brake a moving load. Choose this 80mm bore model when an application demands equal force both ways and mid-stroke holding. If less force is needed, the 63mm bore offers 1402 N thrust and a 2200 N hold; for heavier loads, the 100mm bore provides 3681 N thrust and a 5500 N hold. Select this BSAID clamp-lock over a stroke-end-only SAIL model when you must secure a load anywhere in the travel, not just at the extremes. A plain SAID suffices if no intermediate holding is required.

This cylinder operates at 0.15-0.7 MPa with PT porting (3/8 cylinder ports, G1/8 enclasp port). The 25mm carbon steel rod and M20x1.5 thread handle high side loads well.
