It is crucial to distinguish this 3600 N static holding force from the 2268 N cylinder thrust: the clamp sustains the static load without live air pressure, whereas thrust drives the motion. The clamp operates via a third G1/8 enclasp port and requires balanced cylinder pressures to unlock safely. Furthermore, the variable air cushion only decelerates the piston near stroke ends; the mechanical clamp is the sole device holding the load.

This BSAID80X700 uses PT tapered ports (3/8 cylinder, G1/8 enclasp) and accepts Basic, FA, LB, TC, TCM1, or TCM2 mounts (omitting FB/CA/CB/CR). It operates at 0.15-0.7 MPa. Because the stroke is 700 mm, the M20x1.5 rod thread handles substantial side loads, but an external guide is still recommended for unsupported lengths. Note: the clamp locks only after the rod stops and is not a dynamic brake; safety-critical loads need an independent measure.
