Remember that the SAIL lock is a static holding device that engages after the piston stops, not a dynamic brake for a moving rod. Avoid using fast-exhaust valves, as back-pressure on the locker side can inadvertently release the pin; always pair this cylinder with an independent-exhaust solenoid valve. At 350mm stroke, the leverage on the 40mm carbon steel rod increases side-load risks, so rigid guide rails are strongly recommended.
