Because it is a double-rod actuator, it delivers equal thrust in both directions (2268 N at 0.5 MPa), allowing you to mount a workpiece on one end and a guide or counterweight on the opposite end for dual-side anti-rotation.

It is crucial to distinguish holding force from cylinder thrust: the 3600 N clamp grip is a separate static metric from the 2268 N pneumatic thrust, meaning you must size the clamp against the static load, not the drive force. The clamp engages via a dedicated G1/8 enclasp port but only locks after the rod has completely stopped; it cannot brake a moving load. Furthermore, unlocking requires balanced air pressures on both piston sides to prevent the rod from jumping abruptly upon release.

Choose this double-rod model when an application demands equal bidirectional force and dual-side guidance. If you do not need a rod extending from both ends, the single-rod BSAI80X50 offers the same 3600 N holding capacity but higher extending thrust. Alternatively, if holding is only required at the stroke end, a plain SAID or SAIL cylinder suffices. For safety-critical vertical loads, remember that this clamp locks only after the cylinder stops and requires an additional independent safety measure.

This BSAID80X50 configuration uses a carbon steel rod, PT tapered ports, and operates at 0.15-0.7 MPa. It omits the FB, CA, CB, and CR foot mounts, accepting only Basic, FA, LB, TC, TCM1, and TCM2 brackets. Without a magnet specified, it cannot use CMSE reed or DMSE electronic sensors. The robust 25 mm rod and M20x1.5 thread provide excellent side-load resistance, though long unsupported strokes still need an external guide.
