This model is discontinued

AirTAC has phased out the MAL series. The drop-in replacement is SAUD50X100TC — same bore, stroke, output force, port and mounting, so it fits the same application. Simply order the SAUD50X100TC in place of this model. The SAU replacement uses the same profile body, bore, stroke, force and SC-series mounting. It moves to the current CMSG / DMSG / EMSG sensor switches (the SU used CS1-B / DS1-B) and adds the SAUF valve-integrated option.

About the Airtac SUD Series Double Rod Cylinder SUD50X100TC

The AirTAC SUD50X100TC is a double-acting, double-rod profile cylinder featuring a 50mm bore, 100mm stroke, and an extruded aluminium barrel that is more compact than an ISO 15552 unit. Because a rod exits both ends on a single piston, the push and pull forces are equal both ways at 825N @0.5MPa, 1154N @0.7MPa, and 1484N @0.9MPa. This SUD model is discontinued and the exact drop-in replacement is the SAUD50X100TC, which retains the identical 1/4" port, M16x1.5 rod thread, and TC mounting interface.

The dual-rod design prevents piston rotation and allows the back rod to drive a second tool simultaneously. For sizing, the 825N @0.5MPa force yields a safe working load of roughly 495N and a vertical lift capacity of about 42kg with a 2:1 margin. Note this SKU lacks a magnet (-S) and cannot take a sensor; the modern SAUD uses CMSG/DMSG/EMSG sensors where the legacy SUD used CS1-B/DS1-B. A plain cylinder drifts on air loss—the cushion only decelerates—so use an external rod lock for held loads.

Where the Airtac SUD Series Double Rod Cylinder SUD50X100TC Is Used

precision_manufacturing

Dual-Tool Transfer

Uses the protruding back rod to drive a secondary mechanism simultaneously, keeping both motions perfectly synchronized without adding a second cylinder.

vertical_align_center

Anti-Rotation Lift

The twin-rod geometry prevents piston twist during vertical elevation, ensuring precise guided lifting for workpieces without rotational drift.

conveyor_belt

Compact Push-Pull Divert

Equal push and pull force allows a single unit to positively extend and retract a conveyor diverter arm with consistent power in both directions.

Replacing the Airtac SUD Series Double Rod Cylinder SUD50X100TC with the SAUD50X100TC

To replace the discontinued SUD50X100TC, order the SAUD50X100TC drop-in (insert A after S); the 50mm bore, 100mm stroke, 1/4" port, and TC mount are unchanged. When sizing both ways, verify the equal force fits your load, or step to neighbour bores (40mm or 63mm) to scale the 825N @0.5MPa baseline. Choose a double-rod when you need anti-rotation or to drive two tools. Mount via TC or FA/LB (SC-series only). If adding sensing, the SAUD takes CMSG/DMSG/EMSG sensors (this SUD used CS1-B/DS1-B). For strokes >=300mm, ensure the side-load moment stays within bearing limits. Remember, air cushions only decelerate; use an external rod lock for load holding.

Airtac SUD Series Double Rod Cylinder SUD50X100TC FAQ

Yes, the SUD50X100TC is discontinued. The exact drop-in replacement is the SAUD50X100TC, which matches the 50mm bore, 100mm stroke, 1/4" port, and TC mounting. The SAUD also supports current CMSG/DMSG/EMSG sensors instead of the legacy CS1-B/DS1-B.

Because it is a double-rod cylinder, force is equal both ways: 825N @0.5MPa, 1154N @0.7MPa, and 1484N @0.9MPa. The 50mm bore uses a 1/4" port, a 20mm rod, and adjustable 21mm cushions at each end.
