The AirTAC BSE32X25 is a double-acting ISO 15552 profile cylinder featuring an integrated spring-applied, air-released rod lock. This fail-safe collet mechanism provides a 600 N bidirectional static holding force with no live air required. If air pressure drops or an E-stop trips, the rod is securely held in both directions at its stopped position.
Operating pressure for both the cylinder and the G1/8 lock-release port is capped at 0.15-0.7 MPa. The lock is not a dynamic brake; engage it only after the rod stops, and allow at least 0.5 s for full release before moving. This 32 mm bore SKU has no magnet (-S), so it does not support position sensors.
Rod Lock — 600 N Static Holding (Ø32mm)
A spring clamps the collet onto the rod, so the Airtac BSE Clamp Standard Cylinder BSE32X25 holds its position in both directions when air is lost, exhausted or an E-stop trips. Apply 0.15–0.7 MPa to the G1/8 release port to unlock. Engage the lock only after the rod has stopped (it is not a dynamic brake), and release only when the pressures on both sides of the piston are balanced. Allow at least 0.5 s for full release before moving.

Verify your suspended load requires 600 N or less of holding force. If you need less drive power, the next size down does not exist in this series. If you need more hold, stepping up to bore 40 increases the holding force to 900 N and the 0.5 MPa push to 628 N. Always balance pressures on both sides of the piston before releasing the lock, and allow >=0.5 s for the release signal to clear. When replacing, match the 25 mm stroke, PT1/8 port, and basic mounting. SE mounting accessories fit this body perfectly, except for FTC.
