The AirTAC BSE63X800S is a double-acting single-rod ISO 15552 profile cylinder with an integrated spring-applied, air-released rod lock. It supplies a bidirectional fail-safe static holding force of 2200 N with zero live air. If pressure drops or an E-stop trips, the collet clamps the Ø20 mm rod at whatever position it stopped. Operating pressure is capped at 0.7 MPa, and the lock uses a dedicated G1/8 release port.
This 63 mm bore, 800 mm stroke unit features a -S magnet for CMSE reed and DMSE electronic sensors. The lock is a holding device, not a dynamic brake; engage it only after the rod stops, and allow at least 0.5 s for full release before moving. The adjustable air cushions at both ends soften end-of-stroke impacts, but the collet lock provides the true holding force.
