AirTAC has phased out the MAL series. The drop-in replacement is ASE20X10SB — same bore, stroke, output force, port and mounting, so it fits the same application. Simply order the ASE20X10SB in place of this model. The ACE replacement is a current-production ISO 21287 compact cylinder in the same bore, stroke and force class, with a matching short body and the same mounting-accessory family, so it fits the same envelope. The AirTAC Airtac ASP Single Acting Guided Compact Cylinder ASP20X10SB is a single acting, push (spring return) DIN-standard tight/compact air cylinder with a Ø20mm bore and 10mm stroke, M5×0.8 air ports and a hard-anodized aluminium body. This model is discontinued — the current-production replacement is the ASE20X10SB (ISO 21287 ACE), in the same bore, stroke and force class.
Single acting push cylinder with spring return: air extends the rod and an internal spring retracts it, so the ASP20X10SB runs on one air line and sits normally retracted at rest. This 20 mm bore, 10 mm stroke unit delivers 127.4 N of push at 0.5 MPa (190.2 N at 0.7 MPa), already net of the spring, and needs at least 0.2 MPa to overcome the spring. The male rod thread (B code) and the fitted -S magnet for CMSE / DMSE switches are built into this ordering code. Note that the ASP family is discontinued; the current-production replacement is the ASE20X10.
The short ISO 21287-class body saves roughly 50% of the mounting length of an ISO 15552 profile cylinder, which is why it slots into tight fixtures, small guarding and compact pick stations. A hard-anodized aluminium body with an S45C hard-chrome rod, fixed TPU bumpers at both ends, and a 50-500 mm/s speed range cover light clamping and ejection work. As a rule of thumb, plan on about 76 N (roughly 7.8 kg of vertical lift at 0.5 MPa with margin) for real work rather than the full rating.
