The AirTAC Airtac ASP Single Acting Guided Compact Cylinder ASP20X5SB is a single acting, push (spring return) DIN-standard tight/compact air cylinder with a Ø20mm bore and 5mm stroke, M5×0.8 air ports and a hard-anodized aluminium body. This model is discontinued — the current-production replacement is the ASE20X5SB (ISO 21287 ACE), in the same bore, stroke and force class.
Single acting push cylinder with spring return: air extends the rod and the built-in spring retracts it, so the ASP20X5SB needs only one air line and rests normally retracted. This 20 mm bore size delivers 127.4 N of push at 0.5 MPa (190.2 N at 0.7 MPa), figures already net of the spring, and it starts working from just 0.2 MPa. The short ISO 21287-class body saves about 50% of the mounting length of an ISO 15552 profile cylinder, which is why it slots into tight jigs and guarding where a full-length body will not fit.
The hard-anodized aluminium body carries an S45C hard-chrome rod with a male thread (the B code) and a fixed TPU bumper at each end. A practical sizing rule: count on roughly 76 N of real work at 0.5 MPa, which lifts about 6 kg vertically with a 2:1 margin. Note that this model is discontinued - the current-production replacement is the ASE20X5, and the optional -S magnet on this unit lets CMSE / DMSE switches report rod position.

With the -S magnet fitted, a DMSE switch confirms the 5 mm eject stroke on a PCB push-off station, so the PLC knows every board left the nest.
About 76 N of usable clamping force at 0.5 MPa holds small aluminium brackets against a drill jig, and the short body fits inside the jig wall.
Compare by net force at 0.5 MPa: the 16 mm bore gives 78.4 N while this 20 mm bore gives 127.4 N, and stepping up to 25 mm reaches 210.1 N - pick the smallest bore that still clears your load with margin. The 5 mm stroke suits short eject or clamp moves, and the spring returns the rod home on air loss rather than holding a mid-stroke position. This unit already carries the -S magnet for CMSE / DMSE switches and a male rod thread; FA/FB flange, LB foot or CA/CB clevis mounting can be specified. Since the ASP is discontinued, order the ASE20X5 as the drop-in successor and confirm the ISO 21287 mounting dimensions before swapping.
