This model is discontinued

AirTAC has phased out the MAL series. The drop-in replacement is ASE25X10 — same bore, stroke, output force, port and mounting, so it fits the same application. Simply order the ASE25X10 in place of this model. The ACE replacement is a current-production ISO 21287 compact cylinder in the same bore, stroke and force class, with a matching short body and the same mounting-accessory family, so it fits the same envelope. Confirm mounting-interface dimensions against the ACE datasheet before ordering.

Airtac ASP Single Acting Guided Compact Cylinder ASP25X10

The AirTAC Airtac ASP Single Acting Guided Compact Cylinder ASP25X10 is a single acting, push (spring return) DIN-standard tight/compact air cylinder with a Ø25mm bore and 10mm stroke, M5×0.8 air ports and a hard-anodized aluminium body. This model is discontinued — the current-production replacement is the ASE25X10 (ISO 21287 ACE), in the same bore, stroke and force class.

About the Airtac ASP Single Acting Guided Compact Cylinder ASP25X10

A single acting push cylinder with spring return, the ASP25X10 extends its 10 mm rod on air and retracts on the built-in spring, so only one air line is needed. At the 25 mm bore it delivers 210.1 N of push at 0.5 MPa and 308.3 N at 0.7 MPa, both figures already net of the spring. It needs just 0.2 MPa (28 psi) minimum to overcome the spring and start moving. Note: the ASP family is discontinued; the current-production replacement is the ASE25X10.

The short ISO 21287-style body saves roughly 50% of the mounting length of an ISO 15552 profile cylinder, which is why it slots into cramped fixtures, slides and clamping nests. The hard-anodized aluminium body carries a fixed TPU bumper at each end, and the female M6x1.0 rod thread suits standard I/Y knuckles. As a planning figure, treat about 126 N (roughly 12 kg of push) as the realistic working output at 0.5 MPa, leaving margin for friction and spring variation.

Specifications follow the official AirTAC ACP datasheet (now discontinued). The ASE25X10 (ISO 21287) carries the same bore/stroke/force class; confirm mounting-interface dimensions against the ACE datasheet before installation. Rod type: female thread (blank) or male thread (B). Thread options: PT (blank) / G.

Theoretical Output Force (Ø25mm)

PressurePush force (spring return)

0.7 MPa308.3 N

Single-acting push: air extends the rod; the return spring retracts it. Forces already net the spring; minimum working pressure is 0.2 MPa.

Where the Airtac ASP Single Acting Guided Compact Cylinder ASP25X10 Is Used

compress

Bench press ejection

The 210.1 N push at 0.5 MPa is enough to kick small stamped brackets off a die or nest on a 10 mm stroke, with the spring clearing the part every cycle without a second valve.

precision_manufacturing

Fixture part-present clamps

On CNC jig plates the short body fits where a full-length cylinder cannot, and the spring retracts the platen so operators can load the next workpiece the moment air drops.

packaging

Carton hold-down on a packing table

About 12 kg of usable push at 0.5 MPa holds a folded flap or label flat for a taping or printing head, retracting automatically between boxes at 50-500 mm/s.

Replacing the Airtac ASP Single Acting Guided Compact Cylinder ASP25X10 with the ASE25X10

Size down to the ASP20X10 if 127.4 N at 0.5 MPa covers the job, or step up to the ASP32X10 for 352.5 N. Because the spring returns the rod on air loss, this cylinder cannot hold a mid-stroke position under load - pick a double-acting ACE if you need that. Order the -S code if you want the optional magnet for CMSE / DMSE switches; without -S there is no magnet. FA/FB flange, LB foot and CA/CB clevis mountings are available. Replace this discontinued model with the ASE25X10 and confirm ISO 21287 mounting dimensions before swapping.

Replacement checklist

  • ✓ Current-production ACE → ASE25X10
  • ✓ Same bore / stroke / force class
  • ✓ Confirm ISO 21287 mounting dimensions
  • ✓ Port/thread type (PT / G)
  • ✓ Add -S for magnet if you need sensors

Airtac ASP Single Acting Guided Compact Cylinder ASP25X10 FAQ

Push is 210.1 N at 0.5 MPa and 308.3 N at 0.7 MPa, both already net of the return spring. It runs on air filtered to 40 um at 0.2-1.0 MPa (28-145 psi), proof pressure 1.5 MPa (215 psi), temperature -20 to +70 C, speed 50-500 mm/s, with an M5x0.8 port and female M6x1.0 rod thread. Minimum 0.2 MPa is required to beat the spring.

The short ISO 21287-class body cuts mounting length by about 50% versus an ISO 15552 profile cylinder, so it fits tight jigs and gantries. Switches are possible only if you order the optional -S magnet code, which lets CMSE or DMSE reed or solid-state switches clamp to the body; the base ASP25X10 has no magnet. This model is discontinued - order the ASE25X10 drop-in instead and confirm ISO 21287 mounting dimensions.
