AirTAC has phased out the MAL series. The drop-in replacement is ASE25X10B — same bore, stroke, output force, port and mounting, so it fits the same application. The AirTAC Airtac ASP Single Acting Guided Compact Cylinder ASP25X10B is a single acting, push (spring return) DIN-standard tight/compact air cylinder with a Ø25mm bore and 10mm stroke, M5×0.8 air ports and a hard-anodized aluminium body. This model is discontinued — the current-production replacement is the ASE25X10B (ISO 21287 ACE), in the same bore, stroke and force class.
A single acting push cylinder with spring return, the AirTAC ASP25X10B uses shop air to extend its rod and an internal spring to retract it, so only one air line is needed. At the 25 mm bore it delivers 210.1 N of push at 0.5 MPa and 308.3 N at 0.7 MPa, both figures already net of the return spring. It needs at least 0.2 MPa to overcome the spring, runs on air filtered to 40 um, and strokes at 50-500 mm/s. This exact model is discontinued; the current-production replacement is the ASE25X10, which keeps the same bore, stroke and force class.
The short ISO 21287-class body saves roughly 50% of the mounting length of an ISO 15552 profile cylinder, so it slots into cramped jigs and guarding where a full-length body cannot. For sizing, treat about 126 N (0.6 of the 0.5 MPa rating) as the usable working force, which corresponds to lifting roughly 10 kg vertically with a 2:1 margin. The rod end is male thread (the B code) and the air port is M5x0.8. No magnet is fitted on this code; order the optional -S version if you need CMSE or DMSE switch sensing.

Pick the ASP25X10B when a 10 mm approach stroke and about 210 N of net push at 0.5 MPa cover the job, and you want spring retraction on air loss rather than a second air line. If the load needs more muscle, step up to the 32 mm bore (352.5 N at 0.5 MPa); if less force is fine, the 20 mm bore gives 127.4 N. Remember the spring drives the rod fully home when air is lost - it will not hold a mid-stroke position. Mounting brackets (FA/FB flange, LB foot, CA/CB clevis) and the optional -S magnet for CMSE / DMSE switches should be chosen at order time. Since this model is discontinued, specify the ASE25X10 and confirm the ISO 21287 mounting dimensions before swapping.
