This model is discontinued

AirTAC has phased out the MAL series. The drop-in replacement is ASE25X10S — same bore, stroke, output force, port and mounting, so it fits the same application. Simply order the ASE25X10S in place of this model. The ACE replacement is a current-production ISO 21287 compact cylinder in the same bore, stroke and force class, with a matching short body and the same mounting-accessory family, so it fits the same envelope. Confirm mounting-interface dimensions against the ACE datasheet before ordering.

Airtac ASP Single Acting Guided Compact Cylinder ASP25X10S

The AirTAC Airtac ASP Single Acting Guided Compact Cylinder ASP25X10S is a single acting, push (spring return) DIN-standard tight/compact air cylinder with a Ø25mm bore and 10mm stroke, M5×0.8 air ports and a hard-anodized aluminium body. This model is discontinued — the current-production replacement is the ASE25X10S (ISO 21287 ACE), in the same bore, stroke and force class.

About the Airtac ASP Single Acting Guided Compact Cylinder ASP25X10S

A single acting push cylinder with spring return, the ASP25X10S uses air to extend its 10 mm rod and an internal spring to retract it, so one air line is all the plumbing it needs. At 0.5 MPa it delivers 210.1 N of push force net of the spring (308.3 N at 0.7 MPa), and it needs at least 0.2 MPa to overcome the spring. This model is discontinued; the current-production successor is the ASE25X10, which matches the same bore, stroke and force class.

The short ISO 21287-class body saves roughly 50% of the mounting length of an ISO 15552 profile cylinder, so it slots into cramped fixtures where a full-length body will not fit. Because the S code is in this model, the optional -S magnet is fitted, letting you clip CMSE or DMSE reed or solid-state switches for end-of-stroke signalling. In practice, plan on about 126 N of usable work at 0.5 MPa, which corresponds to lifting roughly 10 kg vertically with a 2:1 margin. Operating range is 0.2-1.0 MPa (28-145 psi), speed 50-500 mm/s, and a fixed TPU bumper sits at both ends.

Specifications follow the official AirTAC ACP datasheet (now discontinued). The ASE25X10S (ISO 21287) carries the same bore/stroke/force class; confirm mounting-interface dimensions against the ACE datasheet before installation. Rod type: female thread (blank) or male thread (B). Thread options: PT (blank) / G.

Single-acting push: air extends the rod; the return spring retracts it. Forces already net the spring; minimum working pressure is 0.2 MPa.

Replacement mapping (swap P for E): ACP→ACE, ASP→ASE, ATP→ATE, ACPD→ACED, ACPJ→ACEJ. ACP-family: ACP (double acting), ASP / ATP (single acting push / pull), ACPD (double rod), ACPJ (adjustable stroke).

Where the Airtac ASP Single Acting Guided Compact Cylinder ASP25X10S Is Used

compress

Bottle-capping press

The 210.1 N push at 0.5 MPa seats snap caps on cosmetic bottles in a 10 mm press stroke, and the spring retracts the pad instantly when the valve vents.

widgets

PCB test fixture clamp

A short 10 mm stroke and compact body clamp small circuit boards inside a tight test nest, with a CMSE switch confirming the clamp is fully extended.

science

Sample vial ejector

In a lab autosampler, air at 0.5 MPa nudges a 10 g vial off its nest; the spring return clears the path for the next pick without a second valve.

Replacing the Airtac ASP Single Acting Guided Compact Cylinder ASP25X10S with the ASE25X10S

Size the bore against your load: the 20 mm bore gives 127.4 N at 0.5 MPa, while stepping up to the 32 mm bore raises it to 352.5 N, so pick the 25 mm when your clamping or ejecting need sits between those figures. The spring returns the rod home on air loss but will not hold a mid-stroke position, so add external stops if you need intermediate positioning. This unit carries the -S magnet for CMSE / DMSE switches and has a female M6x1.0 rod thread with an M5x0.8 port. For new builds, order the ASE25X10 instead and confirm the ISO 21287 mounting dimensions before swapping.

Replacement checklist

  • ✓ Current-production ACE → ASE25X10S
  • ✓ Same bore / stroke / force class
  • ✓ Confirm ISO 21287 mounting dimensions
  • ✓ Port/thread type (PT / G)
  • ✓ Add -S for magnet if you need sensors

Airtac ASP Single Acting Guided Compact Cylinder ASP25X10S FAQ

Net of the return spring, push force is 210.1 N at 0.5 MPa and 308.3 N at 0.7 MPa. Minimum working pressure is 0.2 MPa to beat the spring, with an operating range of 0.2-1.0 MPa (28-145 psi), proof pressure 1.5 MPa (215 psi), and speed 50-500 mm/s. Air must be filtered to 40 um.

The S in the model code means the optional -S magnet is fitted, so CMSE or DMSE reed or solid-state switches can be mounted for position signalling. The ASP family is discontinued; the current-production drop-in is the ASE25X10 in the same bore, stroke and force class. Confirm the ISO 21287 mounting dimensions before swapping, since the ASP follows the DIN-standard footprint.
