This model is discontinued

AirTAC has phased out the MAL series. The drop-in replacement is ASE25X15 — same bore, stroke, output force, port and mounting, so it fits the same application. Simply order the ASE25X15 in place of this model. The ACE replacement is a current-production ISO 21287 compact cylinder in the same bore, stroke and force class, with a matching short body and the same mounting-accessory family, so it fits the same envelope. Confirm mounting-interface dimensions against the ACE datasheet before ordering.

Airtac ASP Single Acting Guided Compact Cylinder ASP25X15

The AirTAC Airtac ASP Single Acting Guided Compact Cylinder ASP25X15 is a single acting, push (spring return) DIN-standard tight/compact air cylinder with a Ø25mm bore and 15mm stroke, M5×0.8 air ports and a hard-anodized aluminium body. This model is discontinued — the current-production replacement is the ASE25X15 (ISO 21287 ACE), in the same bore, stroke and force class.

About the Airtac ASP Single Acting Guided Compact Cylinder ASP25X15

A single acting push cylinder with spring return, the ASP25X15 uses shop air to extend its 10 mm rod and an internal spring to bring it home, so only one air line is needed. At the 25 mm bore it delivers 210.1 N of push at 0.5 MPa (308.3 N at 0.7 MPa), figures already net of the spring, and it starts moving from just 0.2 MPa. This model is discontinued; the current-production successor is the ASE25X15 in the same bore, stroke and force class.

The short ISO 21287-class body cuts roughly 50% of the mounting length of an ISO 15552 profile cylinder, which is why it slots into tight jigs and guarding where a full-length body cannot. With 210.1 N available, plan on about 126 N of real work at 0.5 MPa, which corresponds to lifting roughly 6 kg vertically once you keep a 2:1 margin. Note there is no magnet fitted on this code; the optional -S version adds one for CMSE / DMSE switches.

Specifications follow the official AirTAC ACP datasheet (now discontinued). The ASE25X15 (ISO 21287) carries the same bore/stroke/force class; confirm mounting-interface dimensions against the ACE datasheet before installation. Rod type: female thread (blank) or male thread (B). Thread options: PT (blank) / G.

Single-acting push: air extends the rod; the return spring retracts it. Forces already net the spring; minimum working pressure is 0.2 MPa.

Where the Airtac ASP Single Acting Guided Compact Cylinder ASP25X15 Is Used

compress

Bracket press for connector crimping

A 15 mm stroke and 210.1 N push at 0.5 MPa seat small terminals and nylon clips in electronics assembly fixtures, with the spring retracting the tool the instant air is removed.

sensors

Gate confirm on a packaging indexer

Ordered with the -S magnet, CMSE or DMSE switches confirm the gate is fully extended; the short body fits where an ISO 15552 profile cylinder would overhang the frame.

precision_manufacturing

Part ejection from a drill jig

One air line extends the rod to push finished bushings out of a machining jig, and the return spring clears the part automatically, lifting pieces of about 6 kg equivalent load with margin.

Replacing the Airtac ASP Single Acting Guided Compact Cylinder ASP25X15 with the ASE25X15

Size the job both ways: if 210.1 N at 0.5 MPa is more than you need, the ASP20X15 gives 127.4 N in the same stroke; if you need more, step up to the ASP32X15 class at 352.5 N. Remember the spring always returns the rod to the retracted position on air loss, so it will not hold a mid-stroke position. Mounting brackets FA/FB flange, LB foot and CA/CB clevis bolt to the standard face, and the optional -S magnet enables CMSE / DMSE switch position feedback. Before ordering, confirm the ASE25X15 replacement dimensions against your fixture, since the ASP follows a DIN-standard footprint.

Replacement checklist

  • ✓ Current-production ACE → ASE25X15
  • ✓ Same bore / stroke / force class
  • ✓ Confirm ISO 21287 mounting dimensions
  • ✓ Port/thread type (PT / G)
  • ✓ Add -S for magnet if you need sensors

Airtac ASP Single Acting Guided Compact Cylinder ASP25X15 FAQ

Push force is 210.1 N at 0.5 MPa and 308.3 N at 0.7 MPa, both already net of the return spring. It runs on air filtered to 40 um at 0.2-1.0 MPa (28-145 psi), proof pressure 1.5 MPa (215 psi), from -20 to +70 C, at 50-500 mm/s. The rod is 10 mm with an M6x1.0 female thread, the port is M5x0.8 PT, and a fixed TPU bumper sits at both ends.

The hard-anodized aluminium body follows the short ISO 21287-class format, saving about 50% of the mounting length of an ISO 15552 profile cylinder, with FA/FB flange, LB foot and CA/CB clevis options. The ASP family is discontinued; the current drop-in is the ASE25X15 (same P-to-E swap), so verify the ISO 21287 mounting dimensions before swapping it into an existing DIN-standard fixture.
