AirTAC has phased out the MAL series. The drop-in replacement is ASE25X25S — same bore, stroke, output force, port and mounting, so it fits the same application. Simply order the ASE25X25S in place of this model. The ACE replacement is a current-production ISO 21287 compact cylinder in the same bore, stroke and force class, with a matching short body and the same mounting-accessory family, so it fits the same envelope. Confirm mounting-interface dimensions against the ACE datasheet before ordering.

The AirTAC Airtac ASP Single Acting Guided Compact Cylinder ASP25X25S is a single acting, push (spring return) DIN-standard tight/compact air cylinder with a Ø25mm bore and 25mm stroke, M5×0.8 air ports and a hard-anodized aluminium body. This model is discontinued — the current-production replacement is the ASE25X25S (ISO 21287 ACE), in the same bore, stroke and force class.
Single acting push cylinder with spring return, the ASP25X25S extends its 10 mm rod on air and retracts on the built-in spring, so one air line is all the machine needs. At 0.5 MPa this 25 mm bore delivers 210.1 N of push already net of the spring, rising to 308.3 N at 0.7 MPa, and it needs only 0.2 MPa (28-145 psi working band) to overcome the spring. The S code means the optional -S magnet is fitted, so CMSE or DMSE reed and solid-state switches can be clipped on for end-of-stroke signalling.
The short ISO 21287-class body saves roughly 50% of the mounting length of an ISO 15552 profile cylinder, which is why it slots into tight clamping fixtures and slide assemblies. In practice the 210.1 N rating supports about 126 N of real work at 0.5 MPa, and vertically that is a lift of roughly 10 kg with a 2:1 margin. Note this model is discontinued: the current-production drop-in is the ASE25X25 (swap the P for an E), so confirm ISO 21287 mounting dimensions before swapping.

Replacement mapping (swap P for E): ACP→ACE, ASP→ASE, ATP→ATE, ACPD→ACED, ACPJ→ACEJ. ACP-family: ACP (double acting), ASP / ATP (single acting push / pull), ACPD (double rod), ACPJ (adjustable stroke).
The 210.1 N push at 0.5 MPa is enough to seat small terminals or dowel pins in electronics assembly jigs, with the spring retracting the tool the moment air is dumped.
A short 25 mm stroke and 50-500 mm/s speed suit nudging small cartons off a conveyor lane; the compact body fits where a full-length profile cylinder cannot.
Because the -S magnet is fitted, a CMSE or DMSE switch confirms the probe has extended against a part on an automated inspection station.
Size by force first: the next bore down, ASP20X25, gives 127.4 N at 0.5 MPa, while the ASP32X25 reaches 352.5 N - pick the 25 mm bore when your clamp or eject needs near 210 N. Remember the spring drives the rod home on air loss, so it will not hold a mid-stroke position. Mount with FA/FB flange, LB foot or CA/CB clevis brackets, and keep the -S magnet if you need CMSE / DMSE switch feedback. For new builds, order the ASE25X25 instead, as this ASP version is discontinued.

A fixed TPU bumper at each end decelerates the rod at the extremes. This S-coded version carries the optional -S magnet, so CMSE / DMSE reed or solid-state switches mount directly; FA/FB flange, LB foot and CA/CB clevis brackets bolt to the same face. Confirm ISO 21287 dimensions when moving to the ASE25X25.
