AirTAC has phased out the MAL series. The drop-in replacement is ASE50X10 — same bore, stroke, output force, port and mounting, so it fits the same application. Simply order the ASE50X10 in place of this model. The ACE replacement is a current-production ISO 21287 compact cylinder in the same bore, stroke and force class, with a matching short body and the same mounting-accessory family, so it fits the same envelope. Confirm mounting-interface dimensions against the ACE datasheet before ordering.

The AirTAC Airtac ASP Single Acting Guided Compact Cylinder ASP50X10 is a single acting, push (spring return) DIN-standard tight/compact air cylinder with a Ø50mm bore and 10mm stroke, 1/8" air ports and a hard-anodized aluminium body. This model is discontinued — the current-production replacement is the ASE50X10 (ISO 21287 ACE), in the same bore, stroke and force class.
A single acting push cylinder with spring return, the ASP50X10 uses compressed air to extend the rod and an internal spring to retract it, so one air line is all the plumbing takes. At the 50 mm bore it delivers 875.5 N of push at 0.5 MPa (1268.2 N at 0.7 MPa), figures already net of the return spring, and it needs at least 0.2 MPa to overcome the spring. The body is a hard-anodized aluminium compact build whose short form saves roughly 50% of the mounting length of an ISO 15552 profile cylinder, which is why it slots into tight fixture plates and guarded assemblies.
Practical sizing: treat about 525 N (roughly 53 kg) as the usable working push at 0.5 MPa, so vertically it lifts a part of about 26 kg with a 2:1 margin. A fixed TPU bumper sits at both ends to soften end-of-travel contact. Note this model is discontinued; the current-production drop-in is the ASE50X10 (swap the P for an E), which keeps the same bore, stroke and force class - confirm the ISO 21287 mounting dimensions before swapping. If position feedback matters, order the optional -S magnet code, which enables CMSE / DMSE switches; without -S there is no magnet fitted.

Replacement mapping (swap P for E): ACP→ACE, ASP→ASE, ATP→ATE, ACPD→ACED, ACPJ→ACEJ. ACP-family: ACP (double acting), ASP / ATP (single acting push / pull), ACPD (double rod), ACPJ (adjustable stroke).

At 875.5 N push at 0.5 MPa, the 50 mm bore sits between the 40 mm (556.8 N) and 63 mm (1420.5 N) sizes - step down if your load is under 500 N, step up if you want more headroom at 0.5 MPa. The 10 mm stroke is a short standard stroke, well inside the 250 mm maximum for this bore. Remember the spring returns the rod home on air loss; it will not hold a mid-stroke position. Mounting options include FA/FB flange, LB foot and CA/CB clevis, and the optional -S magnet pairs with CMSE / DMSE switches. For new builds, specify the ASE50X10 instead, since the ASP is discontinued.
Replacement checklist
