AirTAC has phased out the MAL series. The drop-in replacement is ASE50X15B — same bore, stroke, output force, port and mounting, so it fits the same application. Simply order the ASE50X15B in place of this model. The ACE replacement is a current-production ISO 21287 compact cylinder in the same bore, stroke and force class, with a matching short body and the same mounting-accessory family, so it fits the same envelope. Confirm mounting-interface dimensions against the ACE datasheet before ordering.

The AirTAC Airtac ASP Single Acting Guided Compact Cylinder ASP50X15B is a single acting, push (spring return) DIN-standard tight/compact air cylinder with a Ø50mm bore and 15mm stroke, 1/8" air ports and a hard-anodized aluminium body. This model is discontinued — the current-production replacement is the ASE50X15B (ISO 21287 ACE), in the same bore, stroke and force class.
A single acting push cylinder with spring return, the ASP50X15B uses air pressure to extend its 16 mm rod and an internal spring to retract it, so one air line is all the plumbing it needs. With the 50 mm bore it delivers 875.5 N of push at 0.5 MPa (1268.2 N at 0.7 MPa), both figures already net of the return spring, and it starts moving from just 0.2 MPa. The male rod thread (B code) bolts straight to I/Y knuckles on the ISO 21287 face, and the short body saves about 50% of the mounting length of an ISO 15552 profile cylinder, which is why it slots into tight welding jigs and press fixtures a full-length body cannot reach.
In practice, plan on roughly 525 N of usable work at 0.5 MPa, which is about 53 kg of vertical lift with a 2:1 margin - enough to eject finished parts or clamp steel plates on a machining line. The hard-anodized aluminium body carries a fixed TPU bumper at both ends, and the 15 mm stroke sits well inside the 250 mm standard range for this bore. Note that ASP50X15B is discontinued: the current-production drop-in is ASE50X15 (swap the P for an E), so confirm the ISO 21287 mounting dimensions before you swap.

Replacement mapping (swap P for E): ACP→ACE, ASP→ASE, ATP→ATE, ACPD→ACED, ACPJ→ACEJ. ACP-family: ACP (double acting), ASP / ATP (single acting push / pull), ACPD (double rod), ACPJ (adjustable stroke).
The 875.5 N push at 0.5 MPa ejects pressed bearings from a fixture in one 15 mm stroke, and the spring retracts the rod the moment air is released.
With about 525 N of usable clamping force and a male-thread rod for knuckle mounting, this cylinder holds machined brackets against a hard stop.
The short ISO 21287 body fits under low packing heads where an ISO 15552 profile cylinder is too long, and the 1/8" port keeps plumbing compact.
Size by force first: at 0.5 MPa this bore pushes 875.5 N net of the spring, while the 40 mm bore gives 556.8 N and the 63 mm bore gives 1420.5 N for heavier clamping. Remember the spring drives the rod home on air loss, so it will not hold a mid-stroke position - pick a double-acting ACE if you need that. Mounting options include FA/FB flange, LB foot and CA/CB clevis; the male rod thread here mates directly with standard knuckles. If you later need position sensing, order the -S code to add the optional magnet for CMSE / DMSE switches. Since ASP50X15B is discontinued, specify ASE50X15 as the current replacement and verify the ISO 21287 mounting dimensions.
