This model is discontinued
AirTAC has phased out the MAL series. The drop-in replacement is ASE100X25B — same bore, stroke, output force, port and mounting, so it fits the same application. Simply order the ASE100X25B in place of this model. The ACE replacement is a current-production ISO 21287 compact cylinder in the same bore, stroke and force class, with a matching short body and the same mounting-accessory family, so it fits the same envelope. Confirm mounting-interface dimensions against the ACE datasheet before ordering.

The AirTAC Airtac ASP Single Acting Guided Compact Cylinder ASP100X25B is a single acting, push (spring return) DIN-standard tight/compact air cylinder with a Ø100mm bore and 25mm stroke, 1/4" air ports and a hard-anodized aluminium body. This model is discontinued — the current-production replacement is the ASE100X25B (ISO 21287 ACE), in the same bore, stroke and force class.
A single acting push cylinder with spring return, the ASP100X25B extends its 25 mm rod on air and retracts on the built-in spring, so one air line is all the plumbing it needs. At the 100 mm bore it is the strongest model in the family: 3640.7 N of push at 0.5 MPa and 5211.5 N at 0.7 MPa, both already net of the spring. The short ISO 21287-class body saves roughly 50% of the mounting length of an ISO 15552 profile cylinder, which is why this force class fits clamping stations and press fixtures that a full-length body cannot. Note this model is discontinued; the current-production successor is the ASE100X25.
For sizing, plan on about 2180 N of usable work at 0.5 MPa rather than the full 3640.7 N rating, which corresponds to lifting roughly 186 kg vertically with a 2:1 margin. The male rod thread (the B code) bolts straight to I/Y knuckles on the ISO 21287 face, and FA/FB flange, LB foot and CA/CB clevis brackets are available. The magnet is not fitted on this code; order the optional -S version if you need CMSE or DMSE switch sensing. Operating range is 0.2-1.0 MPa (28-145 psi) with 50-500 mm/s speed.

Specifications follow the official AirTAC ACP datasheet (now discontinued). The ASE100X25B (ISO 21287) carries the same bore/stroke/force class; confirm mounting-interface dimensions against the ACE datasheet before installation. Rod type: female thread (blank) or male thread (B). Thread options: PT (blank) / G.
| Pressure | Push force (spring return) |
|---|---|
| 0.5 MPa | 3640.7 N |
| 0.7 MPa | 5211.5 N |
Single-acting push: air extends the rod; the return spring retracts it. Forces already net the spring; minimum working pressure is 0.2 MPa.
| ASP | DIN compact cylinder (single-acting push, spring-return, discontinued). |
|---|---|
| 100 | Bore size in mm. |
| ×25 | Stroke length in mm. |
| S | Optional built-in magnet for sensor position sensing (omit for no magnet). |
| B | Rod type: B = male thread; blank = female thread. |
Replacement mapping (swap P for E): ACP→ACE, ASP→ASE, ATP→ATE, ACPD→ACED, ACPJ→ACEJ. ACP-family: ACP (double acting), ASP / ATP (single acting push / pull), ACPD (double rod), ACPJ (adjustable stroke).
The 3640.7 N push at 0.5 MPa locks a small scrap-baler lid through its 25 mm lock stroke, and the spring retracts it the moment air drops.
A short-strike press anvil for pressing bushings into aluminium housings uses the 25 mm stroke and male rod thread under a knuckle.
A spring-retract pallet stop at a conveyor gate lifts about 186 kg equivalent vertically, returning clear of traffic on air loss.
Size up or down by force: the 80 mm bore gives 2316.2 N at 0.5 MPa if 3640.7 N is more than the job needs, while this 100 mm bore is the ceiling of the range. On air loss the spring drives the rod home to the retracted position, so it will not hold a mid-stroke load. If you need sensing, order ASP100X25SB-S with the optional magnet for CMSE / DMSE switches. Before swapping to the ASE100X25 replacement, confirm the ISO 21287 mounting dimensions against your fixture.
Replacement checklist
Push is 3640.7 N at 0.5 MPa and 5211.5 N at 0.7 MPa, both already net of the return spring. Minimum working pressure is 0.2 MPa to overcome the spring, with an operating band of 0.2-1.0 MPa (28-145 psi), proof pressure 1.5 MPa (215 psi), speed 50-500 mm/s, and a 1/4" PT air port on the 100 mm bore.
It is a compact short-body cylinder with a hard-anodized aluminium body, S45C hard-chrome rod and fixed TPU bumpers at both ends, saving about 50% of the mounting length of an ISO 15552 profile cylinder. The model is discontinued; the current-production drop-in is the ASE100X25 in the same bore, stroke and force class - confirm ISO 21287 mounting dimensions before swapping.
