The AirTAC Airtac ASP Single Acting Guided Compact Cylinder ASP40X5B is a single acting, push (spring return) DIN-standard tight/compact air cylinder with a Ø40mm bore and 5mm stroke, 1/8" air ports and a hard-anodized aluminium body. This model is discontinued — the current-production replacement is the ASE40X5B (ISO 21287 ACE), in the same bore, stroke and force class.
The ASP40X5B is a single acting push cylinder with spring return: air extends the 12 mm rod and the spring retracts it, so one air line is all the plumbing needs. At 0.5 MPa it delivers 556.8 N of push force net of the spring (808.1 N at 0.7 MPa), and it starts working from just 0.2 MPa. This model is discontinued; the current-production replacement is the ASE40X5, which keeps the same bore, stroke and force class.
The short ISO 21287 body saves roughly 50% of the mounting length of an ISO 15552 profile cylinder, so it slots into tight clamping nests and guarded assemblies. In practice, plan on about 334 N of usable work at 0.5 MPa, which corresponds to lifting roughly 28 kg vertically with a 2:1 margin. The male rod thread (B code) bolts straight to I/Y knuckles, and a fixed TPU bumper decelerates the rod at both ends.

Because the spring drives the rod home on air loss, this cylinder retracts to its rest position rather than holding a mid-stroke load. If you need position sensing, order the -S variant with the optional magnet for CMSE / DMSE switches; the plain ASP40X5B carries no magnet. Before swapping to the ASE40X5, confirm the ISO 21287 mounting dimensions against your fixture.

This model is discontinued; the ASE40X5 is the current drop-in, so verify ISO 21287 mounting dimensions before converting.
